“You really should have said something before this,” Aziraphale’s guest squeaked, embarrassed. He lowered his right arm slowly; his fist was still clenched tight around the brass candle holder. “He gave me a terrible fright. Do demons often waltz into your earthly residence whenever they feel like it?”
The two celestial beings silently stared at the unconscious demon, who was sprawled awkwardly on the floor.
“Just this one,” Aziraphale sighed. “Crowley’s really not so bad - although his houseplants may not agree, the poor dears.”
The visiting angel gave him a strange look. Aziraphale really has been down here too long.
