I've heard it said you shouldn't live with your friends unless you're absolutely positive you're going to mesh well.
Going in for a complete stranger as a roommate is a gamble, but one that should be experienced at least once.
Steph is one of the best people I could've ever gotten, especially the first time out, because we're really similar.
However.
After seven months, some of the little things start to get exceptionally annoying - but I'm sure it goes both ways.
Like... she likes to have the TV on all the time. Mostly especially at night, and she can only (well, not only, but mostly/prefers) go to sleep to Nick At Nite. Which would be okay if I wasn't the type of person who tries to get their work done late at night and is also a TV addict. I have a very hard time not watching a show when it's on less than a few feet in front of me. Half the time I get distracted walking through the living room at home going to the kitchen and end up sitting on the arm of the couch for half an hour before I remember I was doing something. So it's getting really frustrating when she's not even watching it, she just wants it as background noise to go to sleep to.
But whatever, I'm sure there's a whole bunch of stuff that I do that gets on her nerves too, so it's not like it's a big deal and in a month and a half I won't have to deal with anymore. I will miss someone to talk to, though, that's for sure.
Went to Spring Awakening tonight. It wasn't as good as I expected, but of course I was already disappointed by the fact that it wasn't the musical version, but that's just a lamentable fact they can't help. I am, however, going to listen to the soundtrack all tomorrow to make up for it. There was lots of awkward mastubation, a rape and boys kissing. The last caused more unsettled rumblings in the audience than either of the first two, which... makes me wonder how 'liberal' college minds really are. Not that I claim LSU is by any means a liberal college, but to 'condone' rape but be uncomfortable with two men--boys kissing? Makes me wonder.
I feel exceptionally fat today, and I didn't do my hair -- I crashed this afternoon after class for several hours, and then the next thing I know it's time to run over to Hatcher because otherwise the show would sell out and I'd end up scramling to see it on Sunday like I have for the past two shows, praying they don't cancel their last performance for some reason. I didn't get back here until 10:30, and I could've taken a bit more time before I got over there (rushing through dinner and whatnot), but it's done, so.
Crap. I forgot I wanted to study for a retake of my vocab quiz. Eff. Got a really stupid group work assignment for Brit Lit when he's not even going to be there, and I have to read for MAA because Long isn't going to be there either-- but he's having a substitute lecturer, and we're still having a quiz. Bollocks to that.
Fuck. It's already midnight and I have to study/prepare for in class writing tomorrow/finish reading MAA and shower. *sigh*
Is it Friday yet?
