About to kick off my last 365 days of teenagerdom.
If I had that little thing called foresight, I'd schedule something teenager-y to do everyday for a year. Maybe I'll make it a monthly thing, that gives me way more time to plan shit out. Yeah. Alright. Plan.
Got a package from Liz today, which made me infinitely happy -- also distracted me at a time when I needn't've been distracted, but who cares, it made me happy and probably was the best thing I could've done.
Swag, in no particular order: thoughtful notes, a mix CD with some key songs, silly putty, a Little Mermaid singing card with that untidy scrawl I miss so much, a couple of bouncy balls with Disney princesses in them (Ariel and Jasmine, respectively), a sweetly addressed envelope for aforementioned card, a beautiful Texas charm bracelet (with, aptly enough, a boot and a six shooter pistol on it, to name a few), and perhaps my favorite of all, a Davy Crockett bumper sticker that now adorns the wall above my bed. "You may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas." I have never felt more keenly the desire for a car, simply so that that can be on the back of it. :D
Srsly, I love you so much,
cherryfeather, it was wonderful and glompings shall really and truly commence in 12 days. One of the best (conglomeration) of gifts I have ever received, made all the more special by the fact that they had to be shipped and had fucking tiny adorable silver bows all over them.
It's getting late and I'm putting off doing my hair for two reasons: 1) it's going to be humid as fuck tomorrow thanks to the storms (remind me to talk about that later) and 2) I'm going to have lots of time tomorrow to do it since I only have one class - pretty sweet gift for my bday, n'est ce pas?
So, I might've mentioned Steph painting on canvases for her best friend's birthday. Well, she got one extra more than the five necessary for her friend's name, and messed it up in the process. It's sitting on top of her trash, calling me to paint something worthwhile on it, but I have no idea what I'd do with it, in painting it or once I was finished. Still. It sings to me.
Anyway, before I forget, the weather. Acutally, let me just nab from what I just posted to Kiah's wall, because it's fairly accurate and apt:
Apparently [a tornado] touched down in the parking lots [next to my dorm, for Herget + us + East Laville, etc.] and unlike the time with Gustav there were cops out there assessing damage immediately. By the time I got outside there were tarps on the cars that had damage [and OMG there were a LOT of blue tarps] - I heard branches fell on cars and Lauren got her window busted by a pinecone the wind was going so hard.
And guess who slept through it all? Steph. one of the housekeepers knocked on the door this morning to ask us about our window (in case it cracked, leaked, etc.) and she was like, "It rained last night?" when the thunder woke MY ass up, who is used to loud ass rumbles big enough to shake my entire house in H-town. I was like are you SERIOUS? But she was... it was ridic... branches and shit everywhere today... I had to bike in the rain. [Good times. (/sarcasm)]
Not much else happened today, I think, except the story of my life - not being done with MAA or Brit Lit homework by the day before and instead banking on the hours between French ends and Brit Lit begins to finish too much reading/etc.
Oh, and started on Walitin instead of Benadryl today. Here's to hoping 24 hour relief isn't just false advertising.
