yoga day 11

Aum Graphics & Aum Pictures

this week has been full of the human anatomy and movement. i feel like i've been hitting a bit of a wall (slight understatement) though yoga and meditation has been guiding me through.
i find it so fascinating how i constantly have the same revelations. this morning i had a yoga therapy session that really drove something home for me. was supper neat how the whole yoga therapy thing works! also there two levels of a hospital that is dedicated to yoga therapy(cant remember which one though)
Yoga therapy assists in reclaiming personal responsibility for over-all health by identifying and correcting necessary physical, mental and emotional changes, before the body responds with a crisis in health; and by supporting and re-balancing the system once dis-ease has manifested. We all have a natural ability to heal when supported at all levels of the process and drawing on our own innate wisdom. A wellness prescription for vitality, joy and equilibrium must therefore nourish body, mind, emotions and spirit - the whole being.
it starts out by defining areas of concern.
prioritize alleviating symptoms.
begin to explore how to restore vitality and equilibrium in a larger sense.
Develop a sequence of adapted postures designed to relieve stress and strengthen problem areas, including the use of focused breath work, relaxation techniques, and/or meditation when appropriate.
assisting the client in learning what to avoid or approach with caution.
consider simple self-care practices & attitudes that could be integrated.
integrate physical therapy or other prescribed treatments to maximize impact.
balance informational and experiential activities.
then a follow-up support plan.

i had this range of emotion throughout the session.
fear
pain
sadness
support
guidance
thoughts
confusion
acceptance

when the word guidance came to me i felt that were people in the room supporting me, giving me reassurance.

by the end i realized that my thoughts are just thoughts. and i should'nt allow myself to get lost in them. to calm my mind... i've decided to prescribe myself more meditation, and when i have these 'thoughts' to just label them and put them aside. to give myself the chance to keep more calm.

anyways, big hugs y'all!
