I reread Half-Blood Prince yesterday, and as as I read, I was looking for more clues that I might have missed last time I read it (lol, a few weeks ago XP). I read this quote and my SSHG fan girl went Squee.
"He fought his way out of a number of tight corners by a simple combination of sheer luck and more talented friends." (p. 31 of HBP)
Ha! This shows that Snape does admire and/or acknowledge Hermione's intelligence and capabilities as a witch. How did I come to this conclusion, eh? Well, besides the fact that it's written there in plain view, I have other reasons as well.
- Ron's not as good as Harry at just about everything and Snape knows as much.
- Harry's only other close friends (besides Ron and Hermione) are Luna and Neville and Snape wouldn't be caught dead saying Neville Longbottom's skilled.
- And, well, Luna's Luna; 'nuff said.
- Well, there's also Ginny, and she's pretty good...
So it could only be Hermione he was referring to! Snape actually payed Hermione a compliment IN FRONT of Narcissa and Bellatrix!
Analysis? SSHG will be canon!!! Lol, well, maybe that's going a bit far, but what the hell.
So... what was the point of this post? Who the hell knows?! I sure don't. *Shrugs* Whatever.
Love you all!
