It’s Never Enough, No Its Never Enough

As much as I have rough days at work, for the most part my job rocks. I get done what I need to get done, no one rides my butt, and I make alright money doing it. I also like most if not all of my co-workers, or at least the ones I don’t like I don’t actively dislike. That’s a good thing, and it’s made me somewhat happier over all.

Although they’ve installed a new thing on my computer (I’m in the test group, aren’t I lucky?) that I’m not sure what does. Think it’s some sort of synchronicity/tracking program. Anyone know anything about the Kaseya Agent? I’ve not heard of it and my searches have been relatively fruitless. Seems like a trouble ticket sort of software. The tech guys say that’s what it is so presumably they wouldn’t lie. They wouldn’t lie and then invite me to come carve pumpkins with them on Thursday, right? Seems like… IT is good friends to have.

One of our drivers just up and quit the other day. He left his truck at our Chandler, AZ location (better there than at a truck stop somewhere, which has happened) and called and said he’s done. Apparently he got a ticket and didn’t like that he had to pay it himself.

We had a driver at the beginning of last week who was found dead in his truck. We still don’t know why and we may never, but he was a heavy guy so the chances are good that what happened to him were natural. He was in the cab, in the sleeper bunk, so the chances that it was chemical related are pretty slim. We may or may not find out what actually caused it but it was a sad deal. My company sent my manager to help his wife deal with things though since she was a shut in, so that was pretty nice of them. Good company, I tell ya.

I’ve taken my first personal hit courtesy of the economy. So far everything’s been going swimmingly for Brian and me despite economic challenges, given that our 401ks are pretty conservative and our investments are nil. I just got a pay cut from the magazine which is a big suck. It’s a pay cut but I also got to cut out a section that I wanted to cut out, so I’ll have fewer things to deal with, but it still really sucks. I understand - the magazine industry as a whole is suffering because of the economy, but it is a bummer when it hits close to home. I’ll be voting Nov. 4 and hopefully the candidate I’ve chosen does a good job. I’m not so much voting FOR the person I’m voting for, but more against his opponent. It’s caused a lot of hot debate amidst my friends and co-workers because we can talk about such things without animosity, which is nice.

A couple friend of our split up. That’s hard with my birthday coming up because I like both people but since it was a one sided split I can’t invite both to my birthday party. It’s gonna be a rager so that’ll be a lot of fun. I feel really sorry for the female of our ex couple friends though, she’s really broken up about it and the circumstances really hurt her badly. She’s a pretty good person so that sucks.

I’ve been sick for almost 2 weeks and it sucks! I went to the doctor a week ago today and got an antibiotic. I took it, and I’m still sick. So tomorrow I’ll go back. Tomorrow I’m off to run loads of errands and have our cooler turned off and our furnace turned on.

I guess that’s it. Have a good night and wish me no more sickness.
