I am very bored at work, hence this post! I really wish that I could start actually posting more frequently. One of these days I will.
I had a really hard time coming to work today, I just didn’t feel like getting up and coming in today!
My little Husky, as most of you know, has been sick now for over 6 months. He’s made really awesome progress and put on weight again until he’s heavier than he was when he got sick in the first place. Last week, he ate something that came from the abandoned building and had a nice intestinal blockage and had to be hospitalized for ANOTHER 2 days … but he’s gotten over that too, and actually is doing really well altogether. SO in honor of Koda’s tummy troubles, here’s a picture of the little guy when he was a pup.
Otherwise, things have moving along really well. Brian’s been having some job troubles as far as what money he’s going coming in, but for he and I we’re doing really terrific. He’s got a couple different opportunities for employment in the works, so hopefully something will work out the way he wants and he can get out of the job he’s currently in.
My jobs are moving along decently well, we’re in the midst of the Spring release and a lot of things showed up late, so it’s a lot later than it should be - and the managing editor is currently in China so that puts us back a little bit too. He won’t be back until May so that’ll be interesting. Then we’ll be in full swing for Summer issue and then I will have been there almost a year.
We had interesting drama with one of our partner sites this morning, got a call from one of the partners about some crazy email that one of the sites sent us about their forum being pirated and how if we partnered with that site they wouldn’t be our partners anymore, despite the fact that we’ve never even heard of the other site. Weird all around, and a strange way to start the day … but fortunately the partner decided to handle it and that made me glad.
Day job is going passably well; I just can’t wait to get out of here. One of the jobs Brian’s looking into would be a night job, and I kind of hope he goes into that one because then I could get a job working at night once the mag comes through, and that would allow me to be on the schedule that my poor sad body wants - it doesn’t like to be awake in the daytime. I’m happy with my body in one way though; I’ve only gained back a couple of the pounds I lost for the wedding and that makes me happy.
I’ve been obsessed with Podiobooks, listening to as many of them as I possibly can while I work, in the car, etc. They’re free and serialized and that’s pretty cool.
We’ve been watching Torchwood, Doctor Who, Top Gear and Wire in the Blood on BBC America, which shows better shows than really any of the American channels. Big Brother’s winding down, and Lost is on their little hiatus so we’re missing that. I like that the BBC America shows are all on OnDemand so we don’t have to actually really worry about when we watch.
We have some interesting stuff coming up here pretty soon … Friday we’re going out with some friends who were in our wedding to a new bar that just opened up our side of town, Saturday we’ll probably hang out at our other friend’s house, then Sunday my co-worker pseudofriend invited us to a BBQ at his house. Next weekend there’s UFC fight night which would be cool, but Saturday night is our friend Mike’s BBG party (bitch be gone) so that’ll be our priority. We’re working on organizing a Sunday Maxima meet for that Sunday so that’ll be really fun too, especially if we can get lots of Maximas and then have a big Maxima convoy to a bar or something which would be awesome. Busy next few weeks!
I got a new/used cell phone too since I got tired of my old phone, wanted a PDA phone and we’re not eligible for upgrade for another year. It’s a Motorola Q, and in case you don’t know what that is, it looks like this:
Now Brian wants a new phone too. He’s been looking at the Motokrzr and the LG Scoop. I think he’d like either one. He doesn’t need to PDA function of the Q and he doesn’t like the size, I don’t think. It’s a little weird for us to have different phones, we’ve always had the same ones usually by virtue of getting a good deal when buying them. I love the q though, I’ve been really happy with it.
I guess that’s about it for now. Life is good.
