Alright, so its been a really, really, busy few days. Thursday was filled with much drinking in Oakland with Greg. I managed to miss my therapist appointment on Friday morning, thought it was at 3:00 PM turns out it was at 2:00 PM. Left for the Chris and Dara’s rehearsal dinner soon there after at 7:00 PM. That went well, and I Josh and I left to come back to McKeesport where Dayna and I put together some flyers for our new business endeavor Picture You Photography (more on that later). I ended up getting really drunk with the neighbor Jay and didn’t get in bed till about 5:00 AM. I awoke and 1 hour and 45 minutes later at 6:45 AM to start getting ready to meet the guys at Boyce Park Ski Lodge (where the wedding was being held). Josh and I left around 7:00 AM and arrived on time. We set up till about 11:30 AM. We moved chairs, tables and started decorating. We left the park to get showered and ready for the ceremony. Josh and I hot footed it back to Oakland, only to get stuck in about 2 hours of traffic. After a 15 minute shower we left again for the park. We dressed and started seating guests. The weeding ceremony started at 3:00 PM. I stayed and continued drinking till around 9:45 PM. All went well and the wedding was bueatyful. I have some pictures that I will post for your enjoyment later maybe. Dayna did a nice job with the pics and I can't wait for Chris and Dara to see them. They are going to be a great couple. They really do even each other out. Once again it is so hard for me to imagine yet another 2 of my friends are married. I feel so old. I have been in way too many weddings. *sigh*
Congrats Chris and Dara LaRue!
After the reception I had planned to meet Jen Myers for a drink as she was passing though town that night and I had promised her back in high school when I turned 21 we’d go out for a drink, and that we did! We trucked it on out to the Southside were we hit up a few bars, most notably… welp… I don’t think I remember what it was called, but it was fun. They had a live band that night with no cover and ½ off drinks! Sweet! Jen her boyf Roy, her friend Heather and I made it there around 10:30 PM and we stayed way past last call. Somehow I was piss drunk, and managed to make it back to McKeesport and passed out.
I awoke Sunday and Beth, Dayna, Molly, and Zoey all piled in the back of the car and we were off to Dayna’s camp in Summerset, PA:
We arrived and Dayna’s day Harry was already there and had cut the grass. We unloaded the dogs and started in on the beers. Beth learned to drive the lawn tractor:
We decided we were going to go out on an excursion to explore all the classic places to visit. Covered bridges, state parks, etc:
and of course… Blue Hole, which was originally visited by me and wrote about in
THIS POST from way back when. Dayna and decided to jump in again for old times sake. We counted to three, and went for it, right off the rock and into the water:
I came shooting back up to the surface shocked at how cold it really was. Dayna too came up, shocked, except for a different reason: “MY RING! MY RING FELL OFF!!!” Horrified, we got out slowly to avoid stirring up more dirt. We searched for a good hour before there wasn’t enough light to see to the bottom of the freezing cold 8-10 foot deep hole. We vowed to come back the next day when there would be enough light to see the shinny $800 wedding band. I had absolutely ZERO faith in the fact that we would find it at all. We went home. Harry and I drank till the sun came up while Dayna called it an early night around 11, and Beth was up puking till late due to a ½ empty bottle of rum, and an empty bottle of Arbor Mist. After packing up to head home, we stopped at Blue Hole, just as we had said we would. No sooner did I walk across to the rock we had jumped off of did I look down into the blue water and saw the ring, shinning in the afternoon sunlight. After a few failed attempts with a pointed stick, and dives, I ended up using my toes and retrieving the precious valuable with great skill and patience. What are the chances? How the hell did we find it? How the hell did we get it back, it was a miracle I'll tell you what.
Bed now, Day just got home from work. We have a "business" meeting tomorrow with a potential "client" lets hope all goes well!
P.S. My phone is fucked up… I am too broke as of yet to unlock the new one… be patient! Little or no calls will be accepted or placed. Sorry bout that. I'll let you know when we are back online.
Fin.
