Another quick update
Had a great day with today. It started with an early lunch with Gillian, Kelly, and of all people Alina Hernandez. It was wonderful to see all of them, especially Alina and Kelly, who I haven't seen in years. It really made my summer to know that even after four years of little contact, you can pick up right where you left off with people who love you like family.
After that Gillian and spent the rest of the day going to IKEA and then up to the apartment in Silver Spring. I was really psyched about how much she liked the place. She's been the first person to see it outside of my mother and brother, so I was glad to get another person's opinion about the place. While working on the place today I think I broke my finger, but that's an embarrassing story of absent-minded stupidity that I would much prefer to not share to the world. I've also update my Webshots with progress photos of the apartment as it's coming together. It's pretty sweet I think. I've got the painting finished, so now it's all about constructing the furniture and getting my artwork up on the walls. I like to this that it has a nice look and design that doesn't necessarily scream poor grad-student. Check the few new photos at http://community.webshots.com/user/lovemycar. Tonight was a very nice evening with an old friend who's now working as the policy director for a state-wide campaign here in VA. He offered me a job to work as the candidate's communications director, but I would have had to put off law school for a year. The candidate really liked some of the speech writing I've done before, which was really flattering. I'm just not sure if I'm ready to drop everything to do campaign work right now. It'd be really cool, though. It's the only job offer I've really considered putting school aside for for a little while. I don't know though, I might just go and work for the campaign after this upcoming school year is over in June. It's really a lot to think about, if someone out there has some good counsel I would love to hear it.
