Quick Update

Sorry I've been outta the loop, what with moving into my new place and working 7 days a week, I haven't had hardly any time to hop on the Internet... Though that may be solved by Friday. Yay!

I love this town, even if I've gotta deal with crazies and some not-so-pleasant folk... Overall though, everyone is amazingly friendly and generous. It's easy to want to return the gestures of friendship! I've even friended a few on FB lately (cheers to CherAmi, Cameron and Diana!).

I love this part of the world, even of it's already getting cold and it's not even November yet! At least I live down in a canyon where it warms up every afternoon. Still the fall foliage is defiantly coming out now and it's just spectacular in it's vivid colors of florescent yellow and deep magentas. I went up to the Kolab Reservoir a few days ago and everything is really stunningly spectacular up there; it'll be a few weeks until the colors appear down here in the canyon.

I love my little apartment. An little it is! But it's lovely and cozy and easy place to just be, even if I haven't fully unpacked yet. It's been hella interesting trying to get two-three bedroom apartments into a 600 sq ft studio, lemme tell ya!

I love the community center and the amazing courses it offers (for example yoga) . It's so generous in assisting other community organizations, like ZArts, the local artist collective. In fact, I've even been ~volunteered~ to be an Elf to help Santa at this year's month long Christmas events; "Zion, Joy to the World." *laughs*

I love that I know everyone a city hall, from the town's receptionist to the mayor! They're all fantastic folk, really warm and welcoming. I've even gotten to know the mayor of Rockville and his wife too!

I love that I can walk anywhere I want and not worry about noise or smog pollution, and yet I live right smack dab in the middle of a bustling and thriving community, with most of the amenities I seek, and those I cannot find just a quick jaunt down the hill into Hurricane or St George. And if I cannot ind it there, Vegas is only a quick 2 hours away!

I love that many locals already recognize me and hollar out hellos and such. I tend to hang out in the evenings at the Bit and Spur, while Oscar's definitely has the best food in town, except for my restaurant, of course ;)

Sadly, I have been putting on weight/inches, even with all the running around at my job; however now that I have a kitchen, an amazing chef to my sous, will be hiking every other day and I got a new-to-me bike yesterday, it should start coming off. I'm not ~too~ concerned.

What I am concerned about is my feet and hips and the abuse they're taking working 7 days a week. Soaking my feet and doing lotsa yoga sure has helped, but an old high school injury has flared up leaving my left ankle sore and achy; at least it's not all swollen.

And that's about that. I hope to update wig more details soon, as well as catch up wig my Texas friends! I miss y'all muchly!
