Bridal Shower
Amy, Emily, and Shannon threw a bridal shower for me today. It was lovely. We were outside at Amy's place, which is nearly magical. She lives in Cameron Park, on an old estates ground covered in bamboo.
Heidi, Mechelle, Emily Riley, Dr. Bowery, Lenore Wright, Tina, Jen (and three husbands) were there. The food was amazing (Amy made more Greek dishes than I could ever have imagined, and we had some great kebabs), and I got a couple of presents from the registry that I didn't expect to get at all (especially at the shower). Lew and I now have (1) a nice martini shaker, (2) a bed spread for our (future) bed, (3) a big food processor/blender, and (4) lots of Pyrex casserole dishes. I also got a few nice night-clothes. ;)
But, now, between the party today and the department potluck last night, I'm beat. I think that I'm going to cuddle the boy, drink some water (to get rid of my case of the hiccups), and soon fall asleep. Sleeeeepy....
