Thanks everyone for the support. My first fanfic apparently didn't turn out as horrible as I thought it would :P Hope part 2 is okay.

TItle: What happened to being scared together? 2/?
Rating: PG
Pairing: Callie/Erica of course.
Summary: Can Erica and Callie make a relationship work if they can't see each other?
Disclaimer: Grey's Anatomy and all of it's character's within belong to ABC and Shonda Rhimes. They do not belong to me.
Chapter 1Callie was glad she didn’t have to go to work the next day, it gave her the chance to sleep for as long as she wanted, and not have to face her biggest fear at the moment, her own thoughts. But Callie couldn’t force her eyes to shut any longer, she needed to check if Erica had sent an email.
She got up out of her comfortable bed and walked into the living room. She was glad Christina was at work today, she didn’t want to be interrupted.
She held her breath as she checked her email.
There was one from Erica.
Hey Cal,
I’m glad you told me what was bothering you, I want to talk about these things with you.
We may not be scared “together” but I’m still here for you Cal, I always will be. Just give it time, maybe things aren’t clear right now but I’m sure you’ll figure them out. I’ll be there for you the entire time. Maybe not literally there with you… but in spirit.
I wish there was some way I could be with you but I’m stuck here at the moment. The chief of surgery here is really strict about getting time off…
Of course this is hard sweetie, but I want to try to continue this relationship with you. You’re my everything and the time we spent apart was horrible. I’m so sorry for everything, but hopefully in time you will be able to trust me.
Hopefully I’ll be able to call you again soon. It was great to hear your voice.
I love you,
Erica.
Callie’s deep chocolate brown eyes began to fill up with tears. “She really does love me, doesn’t she?” she thought to herself. Erica still hadn’t completely gained Callie’s trust again after leaving her the last time but she still believed her. What would Erica gain from lying to her anyway?
Callie’s thoughts went back to a month ago when Erica had broken her heart, once again.
She could still hear Erica’s voice clearly in her head.
“Callie… I have to be honest with you, this isn’t working and I think you know why. You still aren’t in this relationship 100%, and I’m a 100% effort sort of person. If you were trying to push me away, you succeeded. I’m sorry, but I don’t think there is any chance of this relationship working.”
She still couldn’t believe what Erica had said to her. She had been trying as hard as she could to make their relationship work. She loved Erica with all her heart, she just wasn’t sure how to show it. She hoped this time Erica could see how much she really loved her, how much she really needed her… And she didn’t understand how Erica thought she had been pushing her away. She was the one who walked out, she was the one who packed up and moved without a word.
But Erica had changed, at least Callie hoped so. Callie had changed too. She realized what she needed to do to show her beloved Erica that she needed her in her life. But she wished she could believe every word Erica had written in that email, but she couldn’t. She believed them more when she actually heard Erica’s voice, but it still wasn’t enough. She needed to see Erica to fully believe her. She needed to be able to stare into her Erica’s beautiful blue eyes. She needed to see Erica’s smile, the one Callie knew was reserved to her. Most of all she needed to feel Erica’s arms wrapped around her in a loving embrace. Then she would know she was loved, and that Erica meant every one of those words.
Without realizing it, Callie had made up her mind. The next day she was going to talk to Richard and convince him to let her have some time off. She wouldn’t take no for an answer.
