SO the students and staff have these retreats this weekend. the guys get to go to CYAK and the girls go to a womens retreat.
Ugh I am not looking forward to that. The last thing i want is to get together with a ton of females and do female things like express our emotions and have a huge pajama party and get facials and manacure and massages. and have doilies and pot pury and make overs and people touching me. I dont like for people to touch me.
Everone know I am not excited about this whole thing. they just think it is funny. When ever we talk about it in meetings people just look at me and laugh. I requested going with the guys. I want to go hiking and canoeing and sit around the fire. at least I wont be on duty though.
I dont have to pay for it though and I must say that is a perk. OOh I get paid soon.
I am thinking about going to a village called Nuiqsut. some of these villages that our students come from are 3rd world comunities. excluding the whaling towns like Barrow and big cities like Anchorage. There is no easy way to get there. It is $900 round trip. woah from Chicogo to Anchorage to Kenai to here was all of I think $450 round trip.
And Nuiqsut is still in the same state. I was told that I might be able to do some recruiting while i am there so the school might be able to pay for it. I have barely even looked into it so i am not sure.
Brent spent time in Noatak and Seans dad lives in Barrow which is north up kind of by Nuiksut...kindof. We have students from Hooper bay which doesnt have plumbing or electricity. Unalakleet, Shaktoolik, Nome, Kipnuk, Nuiqsuk, Noorvic, Barrow, Fairbanks ect I havent been able to visit anywhere but Anchorage and Homer. But i really want to.
