No, I don't post everything to facebook and no, I don't post much here either. But when I feel I can't post something there, but still want to post it, I still feel like I can come here and be relatively safe. So, that's something.
This is about girly stuff (monthly cycles and the like) so, I'm sure you're not interested and should move on. I don't really remember how to do a cut, so if I can figure it out on the few brain cells that are currently awake, I'll do it, if not, sorry, just scroll on.
For those that want to continue and for my own satisfaction and as delicately as I can be, after some contemplation, I decided to get myself a Lunette cup. (Don't look it up if you don't want to know!) The biggest reasons were their convenience, the overall cost savings, and swimming season when dealing with a headstrong 2 year old.
So, I got one. And I had the occasion to try it for its intended purpose. It didn't gross me out, but it is a bit messy. I can see that once I get the hang of it, it won't be that bad, but you have to get over the squick factor. It did not feel right as is and they tell you to trim the stem. I had to go back for several modifications to the stem before it was the right length and wasn't stabby. My mom chuckled at my efforts and thanked God that she didn't have to deal with such things anymore.
After several tries and modifications, I got it installed correctly and no leaks. It was actually pretty cool. You're only supposed to wear it for maximum of 12 hours so since sleep is coming soon, I went ahead and prepared it for the next 12 hours. Again, weird and a little messy, though not bad. Kind of fascinating in a biological kind of way. And reinstallation was easier this time. We will see how it goes through out the night and how it works out in the morning.
But 12 hours in between reinstallations is pretty cool. It wasn't cheap at just under $30, but never having to buy other feminine products that are very overpriced is pretty cool too. Not sure how it would work if I had to reinstall it outside the comfort of my own bathroom, but I could go back to other products for those instances if I had to. But, with proper provisions, I could see being able to do it. It's definitely interesting, anyway you slice it.
Thanks to Melon who posted about the products which gave me insight to its' existence. We'll see how it goes.
