Kirk Drift

Admitted Trekkie, here. I loved this essay by Erin Horáková: Freshly Remember’d: Kirk Drift. Thoughtful and insightful.

Although the essay states that Kirk and Picard are fundamentally the same character (following the Horatio Hornblower archetype) and differ mainly in personality, I’ll confess that in the Kirk vs. Picard debate I’ve always been firmly in the Kirk camp. Horáková’s column articulates what make Kirk so solid - and also why nuTrek Kirk is so terrible.

There are good comments in the Metafilter Post that originally led me to the essay.

I still would love to have a QMx Enterprise refit Artisan Replica. Sadly, there’s no way I could justify one.
