Wrapping the last strands of pink hair around the hot curling iron, Ai hummed along to Ayabie's 'Kimi no Koe to Yakusoku' as it played from her laptop. Her roomed was now put together; the walls were painted pink with a yellow border, her desk set up along with a nightstand and mirror, and posters and pictures put up everywhere. Even her favorite ( Read more... )

Kyou was sitting at the dining room table when she heard the doorbell go off. She looked up to see if anyone else had heard it. It seemed Yuuhi had, since she'd darted off to answer the door.

"Who could that be?" Her mother turned to her and asked in Mandarin. Kyou shrugged.

"As if I know. Maybe it's just...A well wisher from the neighborhood?" Her father looked surprised, but then went back to his paper.

"KYOUUCHI!" Yuuhi screamed from the hall. "It's someone for you." Kyou raised her eyebrows, getting up from the table and walking through to the front door.

"Ai!" She squealed, smiling and ushering her sister out of the way to hug her friend. "Merry Christmas! This is so unexpected." Yuuhi gawked at the pink-haired girl. "Yuuhi, this is my friend Ai." Yuuhi darted off, to -presumably- blab to her parents. "Come in!"

"Happy Christmas~!" Ai cheered as she stepped through the door and into Kyou's home. "This is for you," Ai giggled, holding out the box in both hands.

She knew that it would be more proper to first introduce herself to Kyou's family, but Ai couldn't care less. She just wanted give Kyou her gift, and see if she liked it or not. She waited anxiously for her friend to take and opening the present, shuffling her feet impatiently like a child.

Kyou grinned, slo-o-owly opening the box just to tease Ai. Then she remembered the door was open,so she closed it then went back to the present. She grinned when she saw what was inside it.

"Thank you so much! I love it." She looked through the photos, laughing aloud at the memories. After putting everything back in the box, she grabbed Ai's hand and dragged her through to the main room, where her family was.

"Ai, this is my mother, Nuan, my father, Chen, and my little sister, Yuuhi." She pointed to them all in turn, and her mother smiled at Ai.

"Hajimemashite, Dozo yoroshiku. Zhang Nuan desu." She said, and her father followed suit. Yuuhi just started at the doll she was playing with.

"I apologize for Yuuhi's rudeness." Kyou said. "Do you want to go upstairs? I have a present for you too, but it's not very good since I didn't really know what to get you..."

"Its very nice to meet you all," Ai said, falling into a low bow in respect. Standing straight again, she smiled at Yuuhi. "I don't mind," she assured Kyou as she followed her friend upstairs. Ai couldn't help but looked around at everything as she walked past.

"You have a big home, Kyou-chan," Ai said softly. Wondering what Kyou's room must look like, Ai frowned, not being able to imagine it. Brushing it off quickly, though, she continued to follow Kyou.

Ai crossed her legs in the agura fashion under her skirt, and took the scrapbook carefully in her hands. Setting it in her lap, she started to flip through the pages, scanning her wide eyes over each page slowly. There was so much to take in, so many things going on at once on the pages. Her mother would definitly approve of the creativity. 'Kyou must've had some great friends in Osaka,' she thought to herself. She smiled when she had reach the last few pages and read the message from Kyou's friends.

Lifting her head from the book to say something to Kyou, Ai saw her friend staring intently at the paper in her hands. 'Maybe it fell out of here,' she thought silently. She watched as Kyou seemed to be concentrating, trying to think of something. Ai wondered what, but wasn't sure if she should ask or not.

"Kyou-chan?" Ai called, trying to catch Kyou's attention. "Is that a piece from the scrapbook?" She asked, going with her first guess since it seemed simple enough and would make sense.

Kyou looked up suddenly, startled by Ai's sudden talking.

"Oh, no, it...I think it was in the envelope with the letter. Actually, I'm sure it was. I didn't have it before, and it'd not have been in the scrapbook." She looked up at Ai, smiling warmly. "It's a photo of me and Xuixui."

"Really? Can I see?" Ai asked. She quickly set the scrapbook to the side and stood up. Walking around Kyou, she looked over her shoulder at the photo that had made Kyou smile so warmly.

"Aww," Ai let out softly. "You two look really cute together." Ai couldn't help but feel slightly envious of her friend and Xuixui. Ai had never been with anyone like that, man or woman. She was glad, though, that Kyou had someone so close to her.

Kyou spluttered and blushed, acting too late to stop Ai from seeing it.

"I...we... Ummm." 'Oh man, she's gonna be so disgusted.' she thought, panicking for a few seconds before realizing that it didn't bother Ai. "Wait, Ai-chan... It doesn't bother you?" Confusion was written all over her face as she tipped her head back to stare at the pink-haired girl.

"I haven't figured out Tokyo either. I go wandering a lot, and I roughly have my bearings, but I'm not too good at navigating." Kyou paused, thinking.

"Do you know where the school is? I don't. Maybe you could show me where it is? Well, if you know." She chewed her lip, unsure of her idea.

Ai nodded her head. "I just looked up the bus route yesterday, actually. I could show you, if you want. Its not too far, but far enough that walking might take a bit," she explained, finishing off her treat.

"Okay! If you don't want to walk, we could get the subway, or the bus, or something." She grinned, heading upstairs and beckoning for Ai to follow her. When she got into her room, she picked up her bag, slinging it over her shoulder then checking if everything was in there.

"Hm. Which do you like better: subway or bus?" Ai asked, not minding either, as she checked the pocket of her dress for a few spare yen enough for fare.
