Every year a party was held at the Kuchiki residence. It brought many of Soul Society's older and prestigious families together.
And tonight this party was special...well, special for his sister
He was only doing this for his sister.
And she was late, he was sure it was Kurosaki’s fault as he looked at the door once again. He trusted her but that boy…
Of all the men to pick.
He then felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to see one of the servants looking nervous.
“Kuchiki-sama, I was just informed that Kuchiki Rukia-sama and her fiancé Kurosaki-san have just arrived.”
He then nodded and dismissed him as he walked to the door, hoping to greet them.
He was sure if he was a lesser man the sight that came through the door would have killed him.
His sister walked in, her kimono wrinkled in a way that was obvious to even the most innocent and her hair must up.
And Kurosaki..
If he was a lesser man he would have killed him the minuet he walked through the door.
But he wasn’t.
He walked towards them and saw Rukia smile his way before bowing.
“Thank You, Nii-sama for inviting us and well,” she stop and breathed, “letting us announce our engagement.”
He nodded and said, “My pleasure,” he turned to Ichigo and nodded in greeting.
Once again, she smoothed her kimono and excused herself to greet Captain Ukitake, leaving Byakuya and Ichigo alone
“So,” Ichigo started, “nice party.”
“Hmm”
“Rukia is really happy that you are doing this,” he sighed, “and I’m happy that you are too.”
"You should be," he took a sip of wine, "I'm doing this for her, after all. You just happened to be the man she picked." With that said, Byakuya walked away.
"Why you...!" sputtered Ichigo, who started turning red due to the irritation he felt for his soon to be brother-in-law.
