Notes: From a conversation that I and
elliot_san had.
He waited in the living room for her to come home from work, he had earlier that day come in contact with her angry black haired friend, Tatsuki. Who threatened him if he didn’t ‘marry’ her.
The problem was, the girl didn’t explain what ‘marry’ was. And that was his problem now, he didn’t want to ask any of her nakama since they might tell her before he had a chance.
For he had a feeling that this ‘marry’ was a big deal.
For it seemed it would make Orihime a ‘honest woman’ in which he was pretty sure she was, she wasn’t the greatest of liars. So he had no idea were Tatsuki got the idea she wasn’t.
He heard the door making a clicking sound and watched as she walked in smiling at him.
“Ulquiorra! I didn’t expect you to be home, I though Tatstuki was going to help you find a job!” she said as she sat her purse and bags of groceries down. He stood and walked up picking some bags up.
“She did.” he stopped and walked to the kitchen, “Woman, what is ‘marry?” he looked at her, seeing the confusion on her face.
Tatstuki didn’t know what she was talking about.
“What?”
“Marry,” he walked towards her, “Your friend said I should ‘marry’ you to make you honest.” he stopped, “I don’t know what she is talking about.”
Her face was red, “Tatstuki-chan really said that?” she laughed, “I think your taking it the wrong way.” she grabbed his hand and pulled him to the couch to sit.
“How? I think she did, you’re already a honest woman.” he glared, “right?”
“Yes…in a way.” she had no idea how to explain this to him. “and in away I’m…not” this felt like the conversation they had about hearts so long ago.
But…this seemed more harder to explain. So much harder.
“Well, we are..unmarried and we have…” she stopped her voice gone, she felt so embarrassed.
“Sex?” he answered, his eyes wide, “what does that have to do with anything?” Many people have sex.
“Yes, but I guess you are a honest woman with a ring on your hand.” she wished Tatsuki-chan hadn’t said anything yet, she wanted to take her time with this subject.
But Ulquiorra wanted to know now.
“How does a ring make you honest?” he sounded irritated, “you are wearing many rings now.”
“A special ring,” sometimes she felt like she was talking to a child. “A ring that represents a bond between two people who want to be together forever and maybe have a family.” she sighed, a family…
“That’s all it means?”
“Yes, it’s called marriage.”
“How do you…marry then?”
“Well,” she gulped this was going somewhere. “one person…usually male…proposes with a ring and asks the person they love to marry them.”
“That’s all?” it didn’t sound like a big deal at all.
“Yeah,” she got up and gave a sigh of relief, “now, what do you want to have for dinner, Ulquiorra?” she turned back around, “Ulquiorra?” he was gone.
She walked to the back way to their bedroom and bathroom and saw him rummaging in a box, “Ulquiorra?”
She walked to were he was kneeling, it was a box she made after she came back from Hueco Mundo…
“Orihime,” he said turning towards her kind of glaring at her. “Does it have to be a ring?” he looked determine, for the first time since the war ended he looked determine to do something.
“Ah, no…it doesn’t really, why?” a lump formed in her throat, just what was he doing? He wasn’t doing this because of what Tatsuki-chan said, was is?
He pulled on an old silver bracelet that she hadn’t seen since that day, her eyes went wide. “Ulquiorra..” she whispered, what are you doing?
“I am proposing, Orihime.” he said looking determine, they were both on the floor. This wasn’t a traditional proposal or the one in her dreams. “Will you spend your life with me forever? You gave me a heart and I want to share it with you.”
He was telling the truth.
She wanted to cry.
She just stared at him, the tears welling up in her eyes, “Woman?” he whisperd, “does this displease you?”
“No,” she choked out, “no, not at all. But, Ulquiorra do you really want to marry me?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re not just asking because of what Tatsuki-chan said, right?”
“No. I’m not Inou Orihime you showed me what a heart was, you share your bed with me.” he leaned forward, “isn’t that a good enough reason?”
“Oh Ulquiorra!” she leaned forward and hugged him, “I love you too.” and kissed him. “I will marry you.”
She would have to thank Tatsuki-chan for this later.
