Tutorial (mov icon)

Ok new GIMP tutorial :)

we´re going to make this:

By the way, i made the icon with the help of This tutorial made by colourfulgirl. I just thought in doing a tut for tjis in Gimp.
anyway, here we go:

Step 1: First of all you need to get some caps. I made the caps i used with VLC media player.

Step 2: Now,we will be using this:
brush made by 77words
so start croping and resizing all your caps to the size of the brush. (if you´re gonna have a background layer with text like me, crop and resize it too.

......
.

Step 3: now that you have all the caps and backg. to the right size, start pasting the into the brush (or you can paste them in a new layer and then use the brush, it´s up to you).

......
(if you´re gonna use text, do it now).

Step 4: Save all those layers (i save mine as .png).

Spep 5: Now open on by one as a new layer, starting ofcourse with the background layer.

Step 6: Now, we´ll write how fast the picture will change. In the layers window (ctrl+L), right click on one of the layers-->edit layer a.---> there after the name of the layer write the speed you want the layer to have, all of mine are (100ms), don´t forget to write it like this: (xxxx).

Ste 7: Now, if you want to see how it´s gonna be when you´re done: filters--> animation-->play. If it´s to fast i guess you can just change the speed of the layers, but what i did was to duplicate the layers.
I duplicate the background 4 times. the rest of them, well i duplicate each of them 2 or 3 times, it´s up to you.

Step 8: Finally when you´ve got something you like, save it as .gif and that´s all.

*Probably it won´t be able to use it as a userpic here in LJ, so what i did was:
first: filters-->animation-->optimize for gif.
And: filters-->animation-->optimize(diference).
This to steps will reduce the number of frames you had, but don´t worry the icon won´t change.
And that´s it, now you can use it for LJ.

Hope you´ll like the tut, and find it understandable. Any question you have just ask :)
