Home again + Merry Christmas
Hey guys, I'm back in Sac. Checked out of the dorms on Friday and got here that night. I crashed the whole ride home. Didn't get much sleep before that between finals, my painting being due, friends, and the boy. I think it tallied up to 8 hours sleep out of 58 hours...hehe...
Anyway, been here with the family. I didn't miss the feuds over volume, TV, cleaning...but it's still good to be home. Mom's really stressing because of Christmas and coming back to a trashed house that was clean when she left, so I've been helping her clean.
I did get to hang out with some friends for a bit though. My neighbor was throwing a christmas party and so a bunch of people from that group (Nick Santos, Cody, Victor Steiner,...) were over. I popped in toward the end because I haven't seen these people in ages. It was really nice. Caught up a bit with Nick and Cody. Came over and dragged my brother out of bed because he knows them too. Drank cider. All that fun stuff.
Other than that I've just been downloading Christmas music. It's odd, I'm in the Christmas spirit, but at the same time not. It doesn't feel like Christmas. The family is split this year. There isn't going to be everyone together in the same house, staying up late to play Santa for the kids, early morning stockings and presents...This is the first year I can remember where this has happened, so it's not Christmas in my mind...
We're going to bake later though. Hopefully that plus the music will chime in and make it more spirited.
