‘Devoid of You’

I devoured your memory
erased the taste of you
no longer bitter and
spewing forth bile.

Denied access to love
but not losing hope
though it dwells outside
these stone walls

Betraying feelings
but you lacked compassion
you felt the need to
impale my heart with dishonesty

Yet now I’ve driven
a stake through your heart
and I watch as you writhe
in agony, and I smile
as you decay upon the floor
and turn to ashes.
