Good evening, I'm trying to use some HTML to make an lj-cut (with text) and embed a link (good old a href - you know the one).  And yet, when I post it just visible to me, so I can check it over, the HTML just appears exactly as I've typed it, so no click-on link for either.  I know I'm doing it correctly as I've had help from Casey previously, and ( Read more... )

Looking at your journal page here, I see you have the updated version, and probably the updated version of the posting page, too. I still have the older one, so things might be set up differently.

When you post, are you in html mode? When I post, it gives me the option of that, or "visual editor". Are there other options when you post? These options are located right above the box that you type into for your entry. I always have mine set at "html mode"

Thanks, Casey - I've just taken a look and I don't get any such option, unfortunately. It appears that I don't have any HTML privileges as a 'newbie'! Which is ridiculous, of course. Seems like there will be no hiding beneath the lj-cut for me!

Thanks so much for offering your suggestions and advice as always - very helpful and definitely worth a try! :D

You're welcome. I hope we can still figure this out. :D

You have the modern post editor. To get rid of it, go here, and unselect the option for the modern post editor. I hope this works.
