Technical question 2/Test

Aug 05, 2022 21:24

Good evening, I'm trying to use some HTML to make an lj-cut (with text) and embed a link (good old a href - you know the one).  And yet, when I post it just visible to me, so I can check it over, the HTML just appears exactly as I've typed it, so no click-on link for either.  I know I'm doing it correctly as I've had help from Casey previously, and I'm also following the LJ FAQ.  I'm not pressing the preview button (the lj-cut doesn't work in preview mode), just posting it for my view only.  Am I doing something wrong?

To test it, in case it shows up different when it's posted to all or friends, I'll include the HTML here and see how it turns out:

Cats Protection

In my recent posts, this appears with the full HTML, >< brackets and all.  Let's see what happens when I post to friends.

Edit: so it's still showing the HTML code :(  What am I doing wrong, folks?

Edit: HTML codes seem to be working fine at Dreamwidth, so why not here, I wonder.

Edit, the third:  Issue solved - with grateful thanks to Casey28.  I have unselected the option for the modern post editor, and the option to use HTML has been restored.
