Home

I am so glad to be home.  This is the first time since leaving for vacation with the kids mid-June that we've all be home together for a period that'll last for more than 4 days.

So, the suitcases are all put away and the laundry is done.  I've booked 4 nights a week at the nursing home for this week and all of August.
Chop wood.  Carry water.  Go to work.  Earn a paycheck doing the tasks I am hired to do.  Simple.

I look forward to taking time in the next weeks to step back and review the events of the past 4-5 weeks and look ahead to decide what is important, what is sustainable; what needs to be recycled and what needs to be let go of altogether.  This season in New England is ridiculously humid with thunder and lightening storms each night.

Ah . . . end of summer harvest and weeding.  Such a bittersweet time all around.

work, summer, sustenance, lammas, simplicity
