So much to say..

Oh my. Where do I start?
It's been a bloomin' long time since I last updated and for that I apologise. Although you did get fair warning about how crap I am at these things.
Since I last blogged we celebrated Christmas, I learned to semi-screen print, I lost some weight, I made swingtags, sold things at the market and bought a quilt and a printer!
So I'll start at the very beginning.

We celebrated Christmas on Sunday. Jesus didn't seem to mind, or noone told him, because it was a golorious day, everything went without a hitch, and it wasa day of great presents, incredible food and minimal stress. Pictures here : http://abe.net.nz/aesop/index9to9halfmnthsxmas.htm . All in all it was delightful and I loved it.

On the Saturday the girls took our stuff to the market. Despite a huge downpour and some crazy heat, they managed to sell some of my badges, and Melissa sold a whole heap of her goodies too. Thanks girls! The down side to that is the lady who manages the local markets is a complete BITCH. She growled the girls for having 'too many people's stuff' on one stall. And said that they weren't allowed to sell my stuff as they hadn't had it pre-approved by her. So thus, another way of selling my stuff down the gurgler. If only I was allowed to drive, then I could have my own stall, or even go out to the Mot markets where things are a little less 'hoighty toighty' and more relaxed. SIGH. At least I made $50 I guess.
Which helped me to buy a whole bunch of new stuff! First I bought a vintage yoyo quilt, well actually I had it on layby and dad helped me pay it off when he was down. It's the most stunning thing ever, hundreds of little yoyos in the most incredible retro fabrics. I'm in love.

And I also bought all of my screen printing gear. A squeegee, the screen, turps, plastisol, a heat gun etc. It ended up being a lot cheaper than he'd quoted which was a huge bonus. But it's going to take me a long, long time to master it. I had a little go last night out on the deck, but I only managed to make three prints that actually worked. What's the trick to it kids? And how on earth do you get the plasticol ink stuff off the screen at the end? I almost drowned in turps trying and its still a bit inky!
At least now I can start making things though. YAY I've waited so long and so patiently for this screen, it had better pay off! I'll take some pictures when I get a little better at it!
What else? Oh yeah. Yesterday I splashed out and invested in a printer/scanner/copier! Oh my how long I've wanted on of these! It's a canon, and it's beautiful. Now I can print off whatever I like without having to e-mail it to my MIL to print off and bring round! There's no stopping me now! Swingtags, flyers, stickers... it's all go!
Speaking of swingtags, I got my bum into gear and made one. It's not as flash and pretty as melissa's, but it'll do! What'dya think?

Okay, I know.. longest entry in the world, but I had to try and catch up otherwise I would forget about things! So this is my last little piece of news for now: I made it to my 5 kilo weight loss! YAY I've officially lost 5.4 kilos since joining weightwatchers! And I've started a new version of their diet, so hopefully I can keep losing! Yay! Watch out! A skinny girl, screen printing girl with a printer and a quilt.. what could be better?
