musing about Muu...
Humans react very strangely to Muu-chan.
Hasumi sees her as a 'foreigner'. Interestingly enough, he attributes a lot of 'youkai' stories to the 'bad habit' of 'Japanese in the past' of calling anything outside their usual frame of reference 'youkai'. So he sort of does the opposite.
In the volume 11 audio sketches, Muu goes to a restaurant by herself and is greeted as if she were an attractive foreign woman.
Which makes me wonder--do you think that maybe humans other than Kantarou see something different than a little green monster when they look at Muu?
