Text Message
Hey! Say! JUMP had their group trip in Okinawa that day and they all just arrived. They separated the groups into two rooms that had two bunk beds and one single bed each. Deciding where one sleeps was not really easy but they managed to get it done and organized.
It was already 11:00 in the evening and everybody decided that it was time to sleep since they were all tired and sleepy. Everyone except for Yamada. He was lying on his top bunk and just stared at the dark ceiling, sometimes listening to the snores of his other band mates.
He sighed, resting his hands under his head. It’s not like he hated going on trips, it’s just that whenever they finally get to their destination, it’s going to be really hard for him to sleep during the nights, not used to sleeping in another bed besides his own.
Yamada tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable sleeping position but still failed. He took his cell phone from under his pillow and saw that it was already 2:43 AM. He sighed again and flipped close his phone, ignoring the new messages he received.
Seconds passed and he still wasn’t sleepy. He wasn’t guilty of thinking too many thoughts, it’s just a body habit and he hated it, knowing that his co-members would be excited for tomorrow to go tour around the place and have fun. Besides, it was rare to be given a week off for the group, so why not take it as an advantage?
He slowly rubbed his eyes and pouted. He wasn’t feeling tired at all. And he was bored. So bored. He took out his music player to find its battery dead, suddenly remembering how Chinen borrowed it awhile ago during the trip. He sighed for the nth time in the night and rolled over his side to try to sleep again, opening and closing his eyes, desperately hoping for sleep to finally come.
Just as he was about to finally give up, his phone vibrated signaling he received a new text message. He wasn’t really going to read it but it was really getting boring already. He flipped open his phone again and the clock read 4:15 AM.
Try and go to sleep now, okay Yama-chan? We still have a long day tomorrow! Yuto-kun loves you veeeeery much! *chuu* *heartheart*
Message from: YutoYuto-kun
Yamada felt himself suddenly smiling at the message and read it again and again, smile growing wider every time he reads it. Slowly, he moved to his side and looked down on the bunk below his and saw Yuto’s smile bright even through the dark room.
Yamada continued smiling as he whispered, “Yama-chan loves you very much too, Yuto-kun!” And he swore he saw Yuto’s smile grow wide, obviously feigning sleep.
And surprisingly Yamada felt himself sleep comfortably for the rest of the remaining sleeping hours.

Beside Me
Takaki suddenly suggested the whole group to have a party in his house just for a change of mood. Everyone, of course, agreed seeing as they needed to relax and rest from all the singing and entertaining they’ve done.
During the party, they never realized the time until they saw it was already half past midnight. Takaki’s parents just suggested for all of them to stay overnight since it was already dangerous in going home that late at night. Good thing the guest room was big enough for some of them while some stayed with Takaki in his bedroom.
Yuto decided to sleep in the couch after Yamada refused his offer of sleeping there instead of him. Yamada instead slept on the floor beside Yuto’s couch. When everyone finally got their comfortable position in the room, they all fell asleep at once. Everyone, except for Yamada.
One reason why the young one doesn’t like sleeping on the couch was because, well, it was too small for him and he likes to move around even when he sleeps. If ever he sleeps in the couch, there would definitely a big possibility for him to fall on the floor while sleeping and oh does he not want a pained back when he wakes up. Besides, he likes the floor, it feels bigger. But that doesn’t mean he can sleep any better when he’s sleeping on the floor.
Great. Now everyone’s sleeping soundly while he’s there, being attacked by his insomnia again as he stares at the ceiling, the snores of his friends ringing through his ears. He sighed as he twist and turned, making ruffled sounds as he do so. But he doesn’t really care much anyway since his friends were too indulged in their dreams to even hear anything else.
He hates it when he couldn’t sleep. It bothers him so much because he knows that the next day when everyone wakes up, he’s going to feel prissy and easily pissed at his other band mates. Sometimes he overdoes it and even made Chinen cry before because of his uncontrolled attitude.
No one could really blame him, could they?
He turned to his again, lifting his arm up to look at his watch reading 3:10 AM. He frowned. How was he going to sleep now? He couldn’t just leave Takaki’s house to go to his own house and sleep there, could he? That’d be rude to both Takaki, Takaki’s parents and his band mates.
He closed his eyes, wishing for sleep to overtake him until he heard a familiar voice calling him.
“Ryosuke,” he heard the voice tenderly call him.
He opened his eyes and met the eyes of the person lying on the couch beside him. “Yuto, why are you still awake?”
Yuto smiled. “Because a certain someone couldn’t sleep as well and I couldn’t just leave him suffering by himself, could I?” He grinned feeling proud of what he just did. It was the truth though. He has been fighting with tiredness and sleep the whole night just until Yamada could finally sleep.
The other was touched. Indeed, he was. That was another reason he fell for Yuto in the first place. Yuto was selfless and loving, and thinking that, he suddenly felt that he doesn’t deserve the love the other one has for him too. He frowned at the thought but his train of thoughts stopped when he saw Yuto stand up from his position on the couch to lay down beside him instead.
Now who could even ask for a sweeter boyfriend other than him? Yuto had a much more comfortable sleeping place than him but here he is now, giving up that place just to sleep beside him and make his sleeping place more comfortable.
Yamada had nothing to say at the moment as the other lay down beside him, initially wrapping an arm around him, pulling him closer.
“I know I’m not as comfortable as the bed you’re used to sleeping on, but I hope I could at least make you feel better. You seriously need sleep or else all of us would get scolded by Johnny-san tomorrow.” He heard Yuto whisper in his ear and he felt his cheeks growing hot and shivered… in a good way.
Yamada looked up and smiled at his boyfriend. His face was so bright and his eyes sparkled through the dark night that Yamada couldn’t help it but just give him a long sweet kiss on the lips, obviously surprising the other. After pulling away, Yuto blinked wondering what was that for but after Yamada pulled closer and buried his face deeper in his chest, he finally understood the unsaid words the other one has said.
Every place would be the most comfortable place if you’re here beside me.
And both of them slept tight for the rest of the sleeping night.
