Chapter 18
Yunho gaped at me, his mouth hanging open ‘til his chin was touching the ground, his eyes bugging out of his skull. I waved my hand in front of his blank unblinking expression. “Yunho?” I grabbed his cheeks and stretched them apart, but his expression didn’t change at all. Great, I broke him. I broke my boyfriend. Maybe I should have waited until AFTER our first official couple sex before confessing to him. I sighed at Yunho, still trapped between him and the counter, and crossed my arms over my chest. What fun is it to tell your boyfriend you love him, if he’s just going to flash freeze in front of you? “Yunhooooooo…” I waved my arms frantically in front of his face, and still no reaction. Well this sucks. I was expecting something much more interesting. An awesome idea popped into my head. Knowing Yunho, there’s probably only one way to get him out of his temporary paralysis. “Yunho~” I hummed playfully, wrapping my arms around his neck, and twirling my fingers in his astonishingly well-styled hair. I pressed my lips into the dent in his collarbone, slowly trailing kisses up his neck until I reached his lips. I swiped my tongue against his lower lip.
His arms suddenly wrapped around me, and he pulled me so close to him it felt like he was trying to meld us together. “Say it again.” He smiled goofily at me, pressing his forehead against mine.
“Whaaa? No.” I pouted, and blushed. “I don’t want to.”
“Please, please, please, pretty please?” Yunho tightened his arms around my waist, and buried his face in my neck. “It was so awesome. Please say it again! It was like a butterfly spread its wings in my chest and shot rainbows through my bloodstream!”
I blinked at him. “Butterflies and rainbows? You couldn’t find a gayer way to describe it?”
“No, I couldn’t.” He hugged me snuggly into his chest, hopping up and down. “You love me! And I love you! So, so much.” He peppered kisses all over my face, his right hand sliding up my body to caress the side of my jaw. “You know that right?” Yunho whispered hotly against my lips. “I love you.”
“Yeah, you only say it like every five seconds.” I scoffed. “Don’t stop though.”
“I won’t… ever. I’m so happy.” His eyes were burning with some bright emotion, as he stared at me. A shiver ran down my spine from the intensity of his stare. “Say it again. Please.” He said softly. His hand brushed away an unruly strand of hair that was threatening to fall into my eyes.
“Gah! Fine. Just… wait.” I took a deep breath, exhaling loudly, leaned to put my lips near his ear. “I… I love you…” I pulled back quickly. I could feel my blood shoot up to my face, so I buried it in Yunho’s chest. “There, I said it. Stop harassing me.”
“Again.” He pleaded, his eyes glittering with joy and something else. It looked a lot like love, but what the hell do I know?
“I said it twice already! Stop being such a spoiled brat.” I glowered, crossing my arms over my chest which is not an easy thing to do when Yunho was basically pressed right up against my body. He always ruins my dramatic gestures.
“You know you love it.” He smiled crookedly, dousing me with another round of facial kisses. “This has got to be the best day of my life.” He crooned, pulling my hands away from my chest and placing them on his neck.
“The best day of your life, so far.” I corrected, kissing the soft spot under his jaw.
“Thank you.” He sighed, his mouth stretching into a blindingly bright smile.
I blinked at him. “For what?”
Yunho shook his head slowly. He held my wrists lightly, taking them down from his neck and holding my hands to his chest, and sighed. His mouth looked like it would never stop smiling, and his pretty chocolate eyes were twinkling. Why the hell is he so happy? I mean my love is pretty amazing, but he shouldn’t be so freaking excited and jumpy. “For everything! For being so perfect, and funny, and gorgeous, and lovable, and cute, and crazy… and for loving me.” He smiled goofily again and kissed the tip of my nose. “Especially for that.”
“You’re getting super cheesy, Yunho. I might barf.” I informed him.
“Don’t ruin the moment.” He pouted.
“I’m not ruining the moment.” I pursed my lips. “You’re ruining it by saying I’m ruining it. I mean you were so being uber cheesy. And not even regular cheese, like melted super expensive blue cheese. It was making me uncomfortable just breathing the cheesy air around you. So technically, you were ruining the moment with your incurable cheesiness, I was just-”
“Shut up, Jae.” Yunho growled, and brought his mouth down on mine.
“Okay.” I said against his lips.
“WHERE ARE THE TEA AND COOKIES?!?!” My mom’s voice shrieked from the living room.
Yunho sighed, his breath tingling against my lips. “No sleep tonight.” He told me with a dead serious look on his face.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Hahaha, it’s ironic, because I won’t be able to dream with the lack of sleep. Get it? GET IT?! I’m so funny I should be a comedian. Ew, no. Comedians are tacky.
“I’M GETTING HUNGRY! AND PECKISH!” Jae Hwa screamed.
I sighed exasperatedly. “Let’s get those losers their tea and cookies.” I groaned, trying to move towards the table, but Yunho’s whole body was blocking my way out. “If I could oblige you to move your ass.” I said in a mock British accent (Yes, Korean can have a British accent… why? BECAUSE I SAID SO!).
“I’d be much obliged, Love.” He smiled crookedly. “If only you’d give me one last kiss?”
I giggled, covering my mouth with my hand. “Oh, you naughty devil! Maybe one kiss…”
“Will that be enough you think? To satisfy you?” Yunho smirked, leaning closer.
“Well we can’t be greedy, now, can we?” I smirked, closing the distance between our lips.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
Both our heads snapped in the direction of the scream. Dae Hyun was standing in the middle of the kitchen, pointing accusingly at us with a scarred-for-life look on his face. Aw hell. I smiled awkwardly at the little kid. One of his eyes was twitching, and his mouth was open so freaking wide I thought his face would tear in half. And that’s not something I’d ever want to see… like ew… creeptacular.
“Ah, Dae Hyunnie…” Yunho mumbled. “Could you leave for a while? I’m trying to kiss your Hyung, and-”
I smacked Yunho’s arm. “What the hell?! Can’t you see the kid is traumatized?”
“Hy-hy-hy-hy-hyung… W-w-w-why… why are you kissing Yunho Hyung?” My nephew stuttered, still pointing judgmentally at us. “T-t-that… He’s a BOY!”
“Hyunnie, your Hyung and I are homo-”
“Yunho, shut up. He’s too young for these kinds of things.” I chided him, before turning to my appalled looking nephew. “Dae Hyun-ah, um… see…”
“Boys kiss GIRLS, Hyung!” Dae Hyun was tearing up, his arms hanging limply from his sides. At least he stopped pointing at us.
“Dae Hyun, boys can kiss boys too.” Yunho told him.
“And girls can kiss girls.” I added, in case he walked in on Su Jin and Seo Jin later on. “And boys can kiss girls, too.”
“I don’t understand.” Big fat tears were starting to pour down his big doe eyes. Great, now I have to teach a five year old to be open-minded about sexuality. Just freaking great. “The prince always kisses the princess. He doesn’t kiss another prince.” His lower lip jutted out adorably.
“Aw, Dae Hyun.” I got on my knees and gave him a hug, and his tears wet my sweater. “They don’t show this kind of thing in cartoons, Dae Hynnie.”
“Why?” He sobbed into my chest. Yunho was kneeling behind him now, patting his back. “I-i-i-is it wrong? You can’t kiss boys, Hyung. You can’t!”
“It’s not wrong, Dae Hyun. As long as you love that person, it doesn’t matter what they are.” I kissed his forehead. “You can kiss a guy or a girl if you want, as long as you’re in love.” I looked up at Yunho, and our eyes met in a gushy movie-worthy romantic moment where we smile at each other in recognition of our luuurvee. I had to bite my lip not giggle idiotically.
Dae Hyun started wiping away his tears, sniffling. “So… you and Yunho Hyung…”
“Yup, we’re in love.” Yunho wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and kissed my cheek, while I blushed retardedly and avoided his eyes.
“Yeah… that.” I mumbled, scratching the back of my head. “So, you learned a lesson today?”
Dae Hyun nodded, still sniffling. “So, I can love who I want?”
“Whoever you want.” I smiled brightly, at him and ruffled his hair.
“Then I want to love Jaejoong Hyung!” He threw his tiny arms around my neck, pursing his lips, and pressing them softly against mine. AWWWWWW!
“Woah, woah, woah. Kid, your Jaejoong Hyung is taken!” Yunho grabbed his tiny head in one hand and pulled him away from me. “And you’re related. So, no no.” He moved his finger from side to side in front of Dae Hyun’s frowning face. “Jaejoong Hyung is mine.”
“No fair! Hyung said I can love whoever I want. You’re just jealous, because you’re OLD!” Dae Hyun stuck his tongue out at Yunho. “And I’m cuter than you. And everyone knows Hyung likes cute things.”
“No you’re not! I’m the cutest.” Yunho scowled at the five-year old kid. The worst part is he’s serious about this. “Look at my puppy face.” He widened his eyes and jutted out his lower lip. Idiot.
“Psh, you suck.” Dae Hyun pulled the exact same face, and he was so adorable I could’ve eaten him.
“Awwwww, you’re so cuuute!” I pulled my nephew into a tight hug. He grinned victoriously at Yunho, who was pouting unhappily.
“You picked your nephew over your boyfriend.” He scowled. “I can NOT believe you.”
“But look at him! He’s so adorable!” I pinched Dae Hyun’s puffy cheeks. “Look, he has big pretty eyes, and chubby chubby cheeks. Ooooooh.” I hugged him closer to me. Yunho rolled his eyes.
“Fine, fine.” Yunho sulked, on the floor, crossing his arms over his chest. “Be that way.”
“Aw, you know I love you, Yunnie.” I let go of Dae Hyun to hug my boyfriend. I kneeled behind him, wrapping my arms around his neck, and he stuck his tongue out triumphantly at the kid who squinted menacingly at him.
“I love you too, Boo.” He turned his head, and was about to kiss the side of my lips, but Dae Hyun’s hand smacked him away.
“I’m not giving up that easily.” The tiny man-child glared at Yunho. “You’re on.”
“Listen, kid.” Yunho grabbed my nephew’s hand and forced him away, planting a swift kiss on my lips before going back to his reprimanding. “Jaejoong is your UNCLE! Therefore your incestuous idea of a relationship will NEVER work! So give up!”
“Yunho!” I smacked his arm.
“What?”
“He’s five for god’s sake! Don’t tell him weird things. He’s just being cute.” I ruffled Dae Hyun’s hair. “Aren’t you Hyunnie?”
Dae Hyun nodded. “The cutest.”
“WHERE IS MY TEA?” Jae Hwa stomped into the room angrily.
“Umma! I’m going to marry Jaejoong Hyung, when I grow up!” Dae Hyun squealed happily.
“The hell you are!” Yunho growled, and my sister smacked him.
“Watch your language!” She screeched. “And why are you converting my son to your gayness? He’s too young. Go to the living room, Hyunnie. Grandma is looking for you.”
Her son sighed, annoyed. “That woman just can’t get enough of me.” He said dramatically, as he walked out of the room.
“He’s got your face AND your drama.” Yunho groaned.
“Shut up. You love it.” We smiled conspiringly at each other.
“GET UP YOU LAZY BUMS!” My sister grabbed both our arms and pulled us up. “The tea is getting cold, and the cookies are getting dry! We have guests, Joongie! GUESTS!” She flailed her arms maniacally in my direction, before dumping the tray of cookies in my arms and handing Yunho the one with the tea pot and cups.
They made Yunho sit on the loveseat next to Seo Jin, and I had to sit at Jae Min’s feet, because there was no more room, what with the unnatural number of siblings I have. Anyway, it was just an amazingly long and boring conversation about Su Myeong and Su Min’s upcoming nuptials. Apparently, now that I have a boyfriend the whole seating plan had to get re-arranged and whatnot. Seo Jin and Su Jin kept touching each other, and Yunho kept glancing at his watch and back at me. Jae Min wouldn’t stop playing with my hair, and Dae Hyun kept running around the coffee table singing “I’m too sexy for my shirt”. It was incredibly chaotic with ten women trying to talk over each other about some stupid wedding, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
“Yeah, it’s almost midnight, Dad.” I informed him as I pushed myself off the floor. “We have to go home. We have school tomorrow.”
Yunho jumped up and grabbed his coat before I even finished my sentence. “Yes, so we’ll be seeing you around.” He waved giddily at my family, and almost ran to the door.
“No, no, no. You guy can’t go home now! It’s late out!” My dad whined, grabbing at my arm. “Just spend the night here.”
“NOOOOOOO!” Yunho rushed back into the living room, panting wildly. “We’re going to… uhh… do some homework! YES! THAT! Homework! You guys will just distract us!”
“What homework? I’ve never seen Jaejoong do homework a day in his life.” Jae Min scoffed.
“B-but, but!” Yunho whimpered.
~~~
“Stop glaring at the back of my head. It’s not going to change anything.” I groaned at Yunho.
“I’m not glaring.” He muttered behind me on the fold-out bed.
“Yes, you are.”
“This mattress smells funny.” I heard him pout. He nuzzled his nose into my back. “I want to go home. Why did you agree to this? Don’t you want to consummate our love?”
“Yunho, if you don’t stop being a huge cheese ball, I’m leaving you for Donghae.” I threatened.
“Yeah, right.” He scoffed. “You wouldn’t trade this hotness for that pretty puppy. I’m so much better than him. I’m smart, good-looking, rich, great in bed-”
“Don’t forget modest.” I sighed, turning over on the bed to face him. “Just go to sleep.”
“I don’t want to sleep.” He slid his finger down the side of my face. “I want to spend all night with my perfect, gorgeous boyfriend.”
“Bleeeeh, cheeeeeeeeeese” I laughed, flicking his nose. “You’re so cute.”
“Hey, it’s our one week anniversary.” Yunho smiled goofily at me, scooching closer. He showed me his swatch. “See?”
“You remember what time we did it? You weirdo!” I smacked his forehead.
“Don’t smack me.” He laughed. “I just happened to glance at the alarm clock on my night stand. You can’t blame me for remembering it.” He slipped his hand under my face and lifted it up slowly, reaching down for a kiss.
“KEEP IT DOWN, YOU IDIOTS!”
“WE’RE TRYING TO SLEEP HERE!”
“YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THIS HOUSE YOU KNOW!”
“Why is your family sooo… guuuuh?” He whispered, wrapping his arms around my waist. “And nosy.”
“Like your family isn’t nosy?”
“Okay, so both our families need a little work.” He rolled his eyes.
I laughed, and hugged him. “A lot of work, but at least they’re very okay… with this.” I motioned to me and Yunho like we were one entity. Hihihiihihi. Oh no! Brain giggle!
“It’s weird right? It was like they were planning the whole thing.” Yunho chuckled.
“Right.” I scoffed. “They met in the park when we were three just to set us up for the future. Of course, pure genius.” I muttered sarcastically.
“Don’t be mean.” Yunho pouted.
“I’m not mean, you’re just a sissy.” I smiled, giving him a chaste kiss on the lips. “Now, sleep.”
“Fine.” He pressed his lips against my forehead. “But you’re going to suffer for this tomorrow.” He wagged his eyebrows.
“Oh, come on! It’s not like it’s my fault!” I groaned. “Can’t you go easy on me?”
“I would, but you wouldn’t like that.” He snickered, and I smacked his forehead.
“Jaejoong Hyung? Yunho Hyung?” Dae Hyun’s tiny voice squeaked at the foot of the fold out bed.
We sat up to look at him. “Oh so I’m not an old man anymore?” Yunho huffed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I had a bad dream.” Hyunnie pouted super adorably, completely ignoring Yunho’s comment. Smart kid. “Can I sleep with you?”
“No. You’re smelly.” My supposedly mature boyfriend stuck his nose in the air. I rolled my eyes.
“Please?” Dae Hyun got up on our bed, widening his eyes pleadingly. You’d think with the number of people shooting me the puppy look a day *cough* Yunho *cough* I’d be immune to it, but no. Apparently, I’m born with a lack of resistance to cute.
“Depends.” Yunho said, before I could launch myself at my nephew and hug him to death. “Are you going to give up on your uncle?” He squinted at Dae Hyun.
“NEVER!” He gasped angrily.
“Well then I guess you can’t sleep here. Come on, Boo. We should get some sleep. We have school tomorrow.”
“You’re mean, Yunho Hyung!” My nephew pouted.
“Goodnight, Dae Hyunnie.” Yunho pulled me back down into the bed.
“Okay, okay, okay!” Dae Hyun looked around nervously, and slipped into the covers between us. “But you better watch your back.” He glared at Yunho, and fell asleep almost instantaneously.
Yunho sighed. “The things I have to do…” He trailed off, staring at me over Dae Hyun’s head.
“Well, good night then.” I whispered to him.
“Hey!”
“What?”
“I love you.”
“You’re really annoying.”
“You love it.”
I sighed. “I love you too.” I mumbled, closing my eyes quickly.
Yunho let out a weird high pitched giggle, but pretended to sleep when I looked back up at him.
