Sunday Morning
Author:
love_cassiopeia Summary: [Based on Maroon 5's Sunday Morning] You love it when his guard is down. And you know for certain that it would do his self esteem no good if you told him that he, Jung Yunho, leader of one of the most successful musical acts, still snores when he sleeps and battles you for the covers every morning. But you love to see him like this, nonetheless. What you see before your eyes no one else will see-or have, for that matter, and that makes your morning all the better.
Rated: PG-13
Genre: Romance/Song-fic/One-shot
Pairing(s): YunJae

Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
The joy of waking up next to him can’t compare to anything else in the world. You think you might never have the determination of ever going back to sleep after seeing his face-so bright, almost like the sun standing two inches away from you. All you can think about after seeing his symmetrical features, his tall nose, his slightly slanted eyes is, of course, how you’re going to dedicate yourself into loving him today. Sleep now resides in your mind as a waste of time. Why spend your life in dreams when you can spend it here, with him?
You love it when his guard is down.
There’s still a part of you that can still feel him inside you. Every night he shares with you is brand new, filled with new passions screaming to be discovered. A part of you still yearns for his touch, and sometimes that may lead the two of you spend Sunday mornings repeating the actions of the previous night-but of course, with a new, more playful take on them.
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you
Now Sunday mornings you usually go back to sleep, having no reason whatsoever to wake up. You have no one to impress, no one to feed, no one to love. All you have now is yourself. Although it hurts to admit it, you’re stuck at the same place you were eight years ago-having no idea who you are or what you’re going to do with your life. Once again, you go back to feeling numb.
So you go back to sleep. Still, a part of you feels restless. You wish you could somehow wake up, take the car, and drive over to him, even though the whole world may come crashing down upon you if you took the very first step. The two of you are not only on two different stages, but on two different sides as well. He’s your enemy now. The whole world knows it-the two of you don’t belong with each other anymore. It doesn’t need saying.
But, oh, it’s so very wrong. How could the two of you not belong together? How could anyone mention Kim Jaejoong without the slightest indication of Jung Yunho?
That may be all I need
In darkness he is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
Thinking it’s the most logical thing to do, you pull yourself out of bed, and take the car. Junsu and Yoochun are still asleep-at least they still have each other. When you’re on the streets of Seoul, driving to your previous apartment, you feel your old self remerge from somewhere so deep inside you, and for the first time in ages, the numbness starts going away.
When you reach your old apartment, you pray that the two of them still live here. You think that an apartment originally meant for five would be too roomy for two. But it doesn’t matter-he has to be here. Instinct tells you he is.
You have some serious balls for doing this, you tell yourself as you ring the doorbell. A few moments of waiting makes you doubt yourself once more, and you pivot your foot and almost start to leave.
But then you see-or you think you see-in the corner of your eye, the Sunday morning sun standing two inches away from you, and you stay. And it only takes one glimpse of it before you realize that you never want to look away.
And I never want to leave
Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 is one of my all time favourite songs. I was listening today and I thought: why not do a fic on it?
I know it’s been a while guys, but I hope that I’ll be able to start writing more one-shots in the future! I miss you <3
