Not so happy fourth

I swear to god, when I have children, I refuse to be anything like my mother. It is the F’n Fourth of July, and again all my mom wants to do is lounge around and do nothing. She refuses to go watch fire works, a staple event for any household for this holiday, but noooooo not for my mother. I even offered the “let’s go see a movie,” using the logic that if everyone else will be going to the beach, barbeques, and firework shows, that going to the movies wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Yesterday she seemed enthusiastic about my proposition, but today when I bothered to ask, while she was tanning in the back, if she still wanted to go, she did that humphing noise and went on a tirade about how she doesn’t want to deal with crowds and blah blah blah.
I really wanted to go see Transformers, but I don’t see it happening.
