Game #23 saw me get back on the scoresheet with the Political Animals in my first "full" game back! We were a bit guilty of the same thing from the week before where we stopped skating after building up a lead. But I think it was at one point 7-2 or 8-3, so I guess it can be forgiven. Because of penalties, there was some line juggling going on; but I played with Andrew and Jordan for most of the game. I got sent in on a weird "breakaway" too, where our defenseman cleared the puck out of our zone down the ice, and I was somehow the first person in the zone before any defenseman to get it; however the goalie came out and bungled the puck enough for me not to get a clear handle on in and I ended up shooting it wide. :S
And after 23 long games, and a major debilitating injury in the middle, I finally got my first goal of the year with the Bastones in Game #24. After a faceoff win by Lloyd, I charged the net, and a shot by Gumbo deflected off the inside of my leg and in. It was a dirty goal, but I'll take it! :P It gave us a 2-1 lead, but much like the PA game, our legs gave out as the game went on, and we lost 6-2. This was a tough one, as it puts us in a must win for our game this Thursday. Let's hope we can pull it out.
