I pledge Allegiance

So chances are, if you're reading this, you're a citizen of the United States. The home of the free, and the land of the brave. More land then we know what to do with, and a Walmart on every corner. It's great, isn't it?

Well.. it could use a little work.

This country was founded on the principle that all men are created equally, and should share freedoms as a human being. Because, after all, that's what being human is all about. However, it's disgusting to watch how many men are allowing those freedoms to be manipulated and changed in front of them, willingly submitting to these changes. Some people are beginning to notice these things, while others are blind to them.

For example: Lets say you, the reader, and I are having a conversation about opinions that I have. This is completely acceptable, there is nothing wrong with that. Now, let's say I were to hop up on a microphone in front of a crowd, and voice those same opinions. My message does not change, but my audience grows immensely. I'm paying for permits to speak in front of a crowd, and now I must worry about being politically correct. I must now watch to not offend any ethnic background, or even our country if I wish to deliver my message in a successful way.

Now, what if someone believed in my opinion so strongly, that they wanted me to deliver my messages and opinions to an even larger crowd. I'm on the radio, monday through friday in the morning, having a great time, with visiting guests and a healthy staff. Not only is the radio station paying for me to be on, but they must be careful to not let me say any offensive words, or offend leadership in the country that could get me into trouble, or the F.C.C. will fine the radio station, and I'll be on the street.

So what do I do? I laugh back at them and hop onto the new Satellite radio, where I can voice my opinions all I want. I don't have to be politically correct, I don't have to worry about who I offend, it's just me and my voice. This sounds great, right? I can finally use my freedom of speech. Fantastic. There's only one problem, and if you haven't caught it yet, you probably never will.

Welcome to America. The home of the free and the land of the brave. Your freedom of speech only costs you $12.95 a month. Problem solved, right?
