- In 2016, I will fly to the States and marry Steven Yeun somehow so help me God
You just wait and see
- Major changes at work, thanks to our executives. Not sure if this is good or not but I will stay positive
- Persuaded mom to invest in a bottle of Doson (creamy white floral) Diptyque perfume but at the last minute her adventurousness kicked in and she got herself a bottle of Philosykos - a unique and intriguing scent of fig and fig leaves, but horrible on mom and me. We go with floral, not woody or fruity, so I have told mom but see she didn't LISTEN so whenever she sprays it Dad opens the window and asks me to check if persimmons in our balcony are going bad
- Started learning Japanese! Signed up for Saturday classes, got 50% off thanks to my work benefits. When I was in middle school I taught myself Japanese and can read simple texts - but it turns out I completely lack grasp of elementary grammar and my pronunciation sucks. Grandpa got excited - he's the only one in the family who's completely fluent in Japanese - so on his trip to Tokyo last week, he got me a Japanese literature textbook for 7th graders and told me we should converse in Japanese every weekend. Such a sweet gesture.
- On his trip, Grandpa met no other than Oe Kenzaburo(
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenzabur%C5%8D_%C5%8Ce), winner of the Nobel Literary Prize in 1994, in a bookstore. Grandpa walked up to Oe, asked him whether he really was the venerated Oe Kenzaburo, and had a chat! Then he forgot to get an autograph on my behalf.
- Did I say Grandpa, an avid reader, hates fiction? After maintaining healthy distance from what he believes to be the genre of preposterous lies and mental depravity for decades, last year he got himself a new novel by Murakami Haruki, and half way through the book he was ready to declare Murakami insane. Grandpa does like essays by Oe Kenzaburo, though.
- Again, thanks to my work benefits, I might be able to get intensive lessons in French for free beginning next year. Must work really hard on Japanese before I dive into another language.
- My liver is acting up. Since I don't drink, smoke, and work out regularly, the doctors think it might be my meds. Hence a day off from work to wait in line for more tests. Will be okay.
