Election Day 2004.. casting votes with hope in mind.
I thought I would never hear from my mom "well of course I voted for Kerry" and " I'm still working on your father"
Who knows for sure what box the old man will punch out today. He'll never tell, but I suspect that calling and having non confrontational conversations and listening might have helped him go from " well, I really liked that big tax cut, to "well I know deep in my heart of hearts that this is worse than than Saigon in '68 and I don't want any of those kids to suffer like I did."
No matter what happens today we are faced with cleaning up after this 3 alarm fire that has torched our country.
There are lots of shell shocked, changed kids coming home... and still more being deployed.
