Dear everyone,
I hope everyone who listened to this Tuesday's show on "Cowgirl Up" enjoyed themselves. Femslash4Fans Radio on Blogtalkradio.com will be back to a normal schedule next week with a live show at 10 PM EST on Thursday, October 14th:
Boy Hero Not Required - Legend of the Seeker with Ivanolix, Seriousfic, and cohost Fembuck
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/allaine/2010/10/15/legend-of-the-seeker Having spent September in a foreign land as we discussed anime and manga, Femslash4Fans Radio moves to another universe in October as we talk about the now-defunct syndicate drama "Legend of the Seeker". Based upon the novels of Terry Goodkind and produced by the same people responsible for "Xena: Warrior Princess", LotS deals with a familiar story - evil tyrant, good sorceror, young man meant for great things, magic sword, damsel in distress, etc, etc. You know, a tale of wizards and warriors in a medieval land, trying to save the world. Well, except for that "damsel in distress" part. Kahlan the Mother Confessor needs no saving, and Cara the Mord'Sith . . . did I forget to mention the Mord'Sith, a society of women warriors with cruel weapons, magical immunity, and those tight maroon leather outfits? Amazons of Greece, eat your hearts out! Anyway, Cara and Kahlan need no Seeker or wizard to protect them. And some fans would argue that they don't need any men at all. We'll talk to two authors about Cara/Kahlan and the other lovely femslash pairings of LotS -
ivanolix, writer of the AU fic "No Fate But Which We Make", and
seriousfic, author of such stories as "Only Torture If It Hurts" and "Mord'Sith Are Always the Big Spoon". Joining me as my co-host will be the experienced fanfic author
fembuck, herself a guest on this show in 2009.
Those of you who are unable to listen live can download the show after it airs. Those of you who are, and who create an account with BTR.com, will be able to participate in the chatroom while we broadcast.
Please tune in and have fun :)
Sincerely, Allaine
