a handful of stuff

First thing of note, Emily had a blood test Saturday morning. The hematologist said her levels were low, however not really a concern yet. We will need to repeat the test this Monday morning. At this point I see a number of things that could happen. Her second test results could be normal and we go on as normal, we have to increase or decrease her Lovenox dose, or we have to go in to give her a transfusion.

Our three year old, Summer, had the opportunity to get out of the house twice this weekend. Along with accompanying our chores, the highlight to both her outings was she got to play in the play area in the mall. My wife and I have been feeling really bad that Summer has been stuck in the house with the weather so cold, not being able to run around. So she ran, climbed on the giant shoe and giant turtle and played tag with some boys. She even found this one boy and made him hold her hand. It was just too cute.

A funny pet store story from Sydney. It was Saturday night when the store was about to close, when a customer walked in with seven very young guinea pigs. The customer walked up to Sydney and handed them to her and said, "these are yours." To stop the story for a second, for various reasons all the stores in this chain only sell only one gender of the animal they sell (except for fish). Sydney's store is a female store. Apparently a few months ago, Sydney helped sell three guinea pigs to this woman, except one of the three was a boy. Well ... it did not take one for one of the females to get pregnant. The woman was very nice about it and raised the baby guinea pigs until they no longer needed to be feed by the mother and brought them back to the store. She kept the original three, but I am not sure what she did with the male. I just hope she got a second cage.

I got my Christmas bonus at work. It was a card and a ten dollar bill. I bought diapers. The interesting news with my work is that they are beginning to talk about getting me in full-time (finally). On Wednesday, I have to come in on the second shift so my supervisor can sit, looking over my shoulder to watch me work all day. Wish me luck.
