Scattered update
So I have wanted to update, but it has been crazy.
• Clara had her first birthday last Saturday. We had a visit from her grandmother, uncle Allen and his girlfriend Jill. She got lots of gift from the family and friends who could not make it to the party. Of course she looked cute eating her first cake.
• Clara also just took her first steps today. I cannot believe my baby is walking. I can hardly believe she is already a year old. What happened to our little baby? She is growing up so fast!
• Sydney and I have strep throat. The kids got tested and they did not get it. Thanks Meijer for their free antibiotic program! Being sick sucks, especially when you are taking care of four kids who want to run and play because they feel fine.
• We got our tax returns back. They were not even a third of what we had last year. Let us say that 2009 sucked and so did this year's returns. The Federal refund is already gone and spent on bills and much needed items that we have been putting off. The State refund is not here yet, but will come and go as quickly since we still have more back bills to pay. I probably will not make my annual mini-comic shopping spree (or at least not at the level as I did last year).
• Working at Pride Source, doing a bit of everything. I am working on ad design and page layout for Between the Lines newspaper and doing a bit for their website. We also have a new project to come out in a few months which is a Michigan pet services directory which I am creating the layout and templates from scratch. Then there is the Michigan Pride Source directory which is their LGBT yellow pages, that will come out in the Summer, but we are starting the early stages of getting the advertisers to renew their advertising. WOW ... I am employed! I almost forgot how that felt.
