I saw the DC premiere of Ninja Assassin the other night (no plot spoilers to follow). My martial arts school participated in the pre-screening demo (complete with flying tanto!). Korean pop star, Rain, also stopped in for a ridiculous cameo ("Hi! I'm Rain. I'm famous in Asia. This is my movie. I hope you like it. Bye.") The audience swooned. Then

I giggled when I saw the preview for Ninja Assassin because the name seemed redundant. Isn't a Ninja pretty much an assassin by definition? Now if the title was say Ninja Librarian or Ninja Plumber it might actually say something we hadn't already guessed. Same thing with Lethal Ninja, which is apparently so epically bad that it's hilarious. What other kind of Ninjas are there? Safety Ninjas? Mildly Injurious Ninjas? Nerf Ninjas?

The fact that it's called Pepsi Light instead of Diet Pepsi says to me that the brand is European. (Coke Light was a new thing to me when I lived in France.)
