OK yeah, so it's been way too long since I really sat down and updated this thing. Recent shite >>>
For The Record = Done. I've known Jeffy (guitarist/programmer) for years, ever since the days of Tolerance and Hedshel playing shows together. This new band is kind of a mix of bands like The Used, My Chemical Romance, Lostprophets, Reggie and The Full Effect...No, the band is actually more like what it would sound like if you took 10 different bands and threw them in a blender (metaphorically speaking). Good stuff; we did 12 songs and it's coming out on Hour Zero records January 28th.
The Cover Up = Done. Awesome band; I've also known some of these guys for a really long time. They're kind of like a poppier Glassjaw/Refused/Finch style band; also one of the easiest bands to record ever.
The Stiletto Formal = Done (basically). This record was a blast, probably the best time I've ever had making a CD. Cellos, autoharps, timbales, and general sonic chaos of the best kind. As an added bonus, the band and I have become great friends in the process, which is never a bad thing. Now if only people would stop asking me about the girls...
The guys are back in town, which is always freaking rad, and I've already seen more of them (especially Mark) in a matter of days than I have in the past several months. Mark makes me want to smoke pot and watch Radiohead videos and make ambient music-noise for the rest of my life.
Speaking of, Marty and I are going to start jamming (such a dumb band-guy word) again this weekend; I'm really excited to see where it takes us. I've had enough of time off and I have a pretty vivid vision of what I personally want out of music, so it should be fun to start making loud noise again. Plus I'll be getting my Triton soon, so, uh, sweet.
New CD acquisitions >>> Jeff Buckley - Grace : Legacy Edition, Copeland - Beneath Medicine Tree, Blood Brothers - Crimes, and some other assorted stuff.
I want to see The Incredibles, dammit. Let's do it! Rawwr, and such. I need coffee.
