Haven't dropped off the planet yet!!
I'm finding this quarter of school less than what i was dreading, which is good, and due in part to the panics of the last two quarters having become routine, and in part to a prof who doesn't much feel like grading or teaching. She's been the department chair for the past two years or so and was running minimum classes, so now that she's out and back to teaching the forming class....she'd rather play with hammers than teach us to play with hammers ^ ^* ah well. Grand total of four or five well-spaces projects for the whole quarter in that class. For the other jewelry class, Mechanisms, involves lots of little "practices" on hinges and catches and earings and such. The first six are due at midterm, the last five and a final due the last week.
And a museum studies class which is being equal parts interesting and *groan long term project*
Work goes through its usual internal drama and leaky roof syndrome. Next time i can corner the GM its time to bother him again about my 90-day raise and my promotion raise, before the one gets within 1 year and thus void, and before the other gets forgotten entirely. Rar!
This past weekend the annual school sponsored International Fest was held, and i was able to put out more items for sale than last year. Overall there were more items of greater quality out this year than last, a testament to the new Metals and Jewelery Student Association's (club) better advertising job. the night before i made feather earings and prepped necklaces i'd done during the winter break. Sold two feather earing sets, two necklace/earing sets, and one solo earing set which i shall copy copiously for next year. i'm fianlly contemplating getting myself an etsy account since i enjoy making the feather earrings, i have a pair for me that are great fun to wear. Also, since tis quarter is eing nice to me, i'm finally making /things/ and not just exercises, like making some Viking Apron Brooches roughly based on an image from the 7000 Years of Jewelry book that i bought at Gulf Wars, rathen than just a pin mechanism to show i can. Hope to continue this trend, my portfolio currently is almost entirely technical and minimally artistic in the jewelry department.
Gonna feed the kitchen god curry again this month and see if Red Dwarf starts making new episodes!! :D
Good Night!
