Life Update:
School ended today for the quarter. Woooo!!!! I ate a big meal and plan to sleep 'till noon, then do laundry and dishes and clean the house... and all the other stuff one does after 10 weeks of not bloody well taking a break.
Sky is probably moving back to ohio, possibly soon, because there have still not been any job bites in this area, but his dad knows people and 'stuff' in Cincin, and it'll all work out in the end.
I've decided to low-key thanksgiving this year, as i'm not sure if i'm cooking for one or two, and because i am working part of that day. Time and a half holiday pay is a wonderful thing tho. And after that i'm going to gleefully decorate for christmas.
Speaking of christmas...
I've a developping interest in the history and evolution of modern rock. I got a book from the B&N bargain rack a while back, called the Rock and Pop Timelin, and that might have sparked it, but then again i mustve had an interest to buy it in the first place...regardless i'm in the market for keystone albums of rock history. Like for example, for me, AC/DC and Nirvana and Metalica and Kiss are Gods of Rock that I know vicariously but don't actually have direc experience of. i couldnt tell you /why/ they're amamzing, i just know 95% of the people who have listened to rock forever say they are. Recently, in class, was the first time i've ever heard more then 1 Micheal Jackson song in the course of a month, and despite the pitiful public image i was starting to realize why he was popular and amazing.
(Actually i've been hearing a lot of Metalica from Sky, who is a big fan of their stuff up to but not including the St. Anger album. Sandly he lost all his CDs while in the army, so those albums are on /my/ aquire list for /him/ this christmas)
So, albums, used or otherise, of the people one aught to know about.
A subscription to Colored Stone magazine would be pretty nifty. As would "matcha" green tea powder, which tends to not appear in stores (often not even asian markets) because its expensive, like $7-$8 for a few ounces. Good for ice cream though :D
Aside from that, all this non-stop school work has messed me up so that i can't sit still more than 2 hours without getting bored and restless. i'm going to try and maintain some of this enforced energy to do at-home projects, but we'll see how that goes.
