[After breakfast, after Norma has broken the news of Stella going home, Grune walks outside to the little vegetable garden at the side of House 34. For the longest time, she simply stands in the middle of it, staring blankly, a packet of seeds in her hand.
Then, she carefully sets the seeds into her small purse with her journal and begins to weed.
Later that day, Grune walks to the flower shop to look for more seeds and bulbs. When she's done, she goes to the Memory Garden, where she can be found carefully planting the bulbs. Her friends will notice she's a little more distant today, her movements and speech and smiles all subdued.
It's been a difficult two days, even for a woman who's almost always happy.]
