A miscellaneous post.
I recorded a soundscape of the garden in the morning, which I planned to post, only to discover that you can't do audio on LJ :-(
Falling Up, an artwork at the Courtauld Gallery. The photo doesn't do it justice, but I'd happily house this if I had room and budget…
A decorative corbel from the Temple Church in London.
The edge of woods. I never get sick of looking at and photographing the woods. I hope you don't either!
Lovely Daughter & Macc jumping. I wasn't really fast enough to snap 'em as they jumped, but I quite like this action shot. This was about 8.30pm one night last week. I'd post a picture of LD in her prom dress, but she made me promise I wouldn't. She looked lovely.
This is my little automatic Astra hire car. Freedom, with a capital F. It is currently for sale at only £1795. If I lived here full time I'd even be tempted. It has a nice responsive feel and a compact turning circle (great for getting lost up country lanes). It's only grumble is that the accelerator jerks when you first use it no matter how gently I touch it. It's unusual to get an automatic here, most cars are manual, which I have never learned to drive.
I have been to Cambridge and back in it, and also running around the villages about Bury doing errands. Shopping is a lot easier with a car - I can buy a six pack of mineral water (or cider) and throw it in the boot. Yesterday I threw a friend's case in there.
I only have her for this week, then I'll be away from Bury. I might try to get her again for a few days on my return, to visit some of the more outlying stately homes.
