Band. What can I say. There are so many things wrong with it. Mr. Reed and all the Upper classman are always saying it will eventually pay off, but will it? I mean, come on, (Time for the blunt truth that I cant hold in anymore, so take a deep breath, dont take any of this too personal, and read on) our drumline sucks, and with Matt gone next year ( Read more... )

WOO. Long time no comment.
Mmm hmm. When Matt is gone next year, who do we have? Although very unlikely, I like to think that Chase can step up. And even more unlikely, Bill too. Those are the only two I can see actually doing good for the band without annoying me(like Greg. Or Doug). Aaron does suck. He marches by dragging his feet across the field, and as you said, is off-step. Emily is awful too. I can tolerate her being annoying. Barely. But at the football game last week, she had her horn down for every part that I could see. I couldn't believe it. I really just wanted to yell at her like I had done at a practice last week. A lot of the freshmen(example, the girl clarinet that's really loud and has no idea half of time at practices.) don't care and I really, again, just want to yell at them. I'm positive that last year when we(not including myself) were marching, we tried the best we could. Some of the freshmen are just dumb.

Ah...
Now to write the same stuff over.

I personally agree I think bill and chase can step up to the plate next year, espically chase. I also think matt has alot on his plate so he cant add the sectional time in like bradford could, but itll work out.Ahh i dont pay attention to anyone but the trumpets the drumline and the durm majors. Trumpets need work but Im sure you know that. Standing on the sideline personally pissed me off, but it helped me see what it looks like to have so many holes on the field, that and the fact that...we either need straight legs all or roll step all. Not this lets walk around the field and kinda look right. We have alot of slackers in band but I seriously think that Reed needs to do something to give everyone a reality slap but oh well. Symphonic, Im mad...6 to 17 ratio of trumpets. Come on. I think Matt should be in there really, hes going to get yelled at more for not knowing his part and it either force him to quit or stop being a jerk and learn it. Another personal thing, if its going on deserving it...not that many people do...really. Oh ( ... )

I'm just going to come right out and say this... I don't think we'll all that great at competitions this year. The judges will tear us apart. From not marching (or marching correctly) to people not playing to horn angles to moving while at attention. Yeah I think we'd be better off just going back to roll-stepping since that's what most people are doing and are used to doing. Plus I think it's a lot easier than straight-legged style. A lot of the freshmen don't seem to understand the concept of marching band. 1) It's MARCHING BAND. Not walking band. Marching. 2) Band meaning PLAYING the correct parts of music at the correct times with the correct notes and rhythms. 3) You have to listen to the band director. I mean...he might know a little more than little freshmen about marching band and all the other activities. And plus you have to know where you're going so you don't run into other people. I think the freshmen will get a big surprise at our first competition (if we are even allowed to go...with the buses and gas and all ( ... )
