My parents were married for 51 years. My dad died the day after their 51st anniversary.

In an apartment at the peak of a hill overlooking the Sunset District in San Francisco, sitting in a papa-san chair. (I also think I’ll have tons of money, a lifetime free pass from paying taxes and going to jury duty, abundant sex with a rotating group of adoring and willing co-conspirators, and a perky ass that's worshipped on a daily basis. And pastry.)

Pewter.

It varies. 2 - 3. All but one ends up on the floor every morning, without fail.

In California it’s Summer, in New England it’s Fall.

Cold and snow!

Hot pavement under my bare feet. Summer songs. Fireflies. Open windows.

Fuzzy green buds on the trees.

Two.

Boston (and a multitude of neighborhoods within the city limits), SF’s East Bay.

Shoes outside in winter. Socks indoors on cold days. On warm days, bare feet indoors and out.

Sort of, but at times really, really shy.

Little Danish puff pastry cookies.

I don’t have a favorite because I’m still new to the area and trying things out!

Java chip.

Pie. Specifically, really good fruit pie.

I wear an IV drip of Gevalia French Roast. It’s how I survive.

No. I wanted them for 5 minutes when I met D, but she talked me out of it. No regrets though.

My cat responds to me only if I speak Spanish. It’s a shame I speak it so poorly.

Yes.

Ocean.

Window seats on red-eye flights because I can curl up against the hull and sleep. Aisle seats work on daytime flights.

No.

It’s a tie, in no particular order: makeup and skincare, music and travel.

My wedding band.

If you mean little as in age, no. If you mean little as in when I was a much smaller size, yes. I have a box of vintage threads from the 70s, Gunne Sax dresses, caftans, old ski clothes. I even have a few pieces of my grandmother's clothes from the 40s and some seriously vintage nightwear that belonged to my great grandmother. They wore those things when I was little. Oh.

A little stuffed dinosaur that was our dog’s favorite puppy toy.

Yes. I live in California; Jerry Brown takes it personally if we don’t.

Closed, always. It's a superstition.

Sister Eulalia. She was kind, sweet and funny. Actually most of the nuns at my HS were great women.

A weekend.

100. Who was the last person to do something extra special for you?
People do special things for me everyday because I define every act of kindness as a special thing. Today’s extra special thing was that one of our maintenance guys at our apartment complex fixed the bedroom closet door without a work order, and he did it with a smile.
