it seems to me like mike was obviously persuaded to get henry out, however i don't believe he was brainwashed. Jack was right to think that Michael didn't just run out of the jungle. I think the others caught michael, and told him that they would give him back walt if he got henry back, which is total bullshit, i think they just want henry dead, and have no intention of freeing walt.

If that's the case, why didn't they just have him kill Henry?

maybe they want to debrief henry and find out what he learned about their hatch and what the survivors are up to before they kill him. michael wouldn't know what had been going on the last couple of weeks, but henry would.

Possibly. I think Michael has the sickness. I can't remember if you brought that up already or not :(

i don't know if i believe michael is sick. i think he's just being coerced. like, "kill ana and let henry go for us, and you can have walt back." he would do anything to get walt back, after all.

True, but I really don't think he could kill somebody in cold blood, especially since he has zero reason to trust the Others.

I think he'd do anything to get Walt back. And ... he may have been convinced that he's doing "good" by killing off "bad people". Sure he needed the combo from Ana, but he COULD have gotten Henry out without killing Ana if he wanted. Instead I think it was an act of "judgement" for the fact that even though she didn't kill Henry herself she still gave Michael the gun and the combo so that HE could kill him. Watch his face as she gives him the combo. He hasn't made up his mind what he's going to do until she tells him the whole thing.

I suppose. I still think there was some brainwashing involved...or maybe our heros are the bad guys after all and Michael was the first to realize this.

Isn't it possible that The Others told Michael to kill off Ana Lucia because she is "bad" and to bring John and possibly Jack to them? Because Michael pushed the fact that the Others were lacking in weapons and such, Jack wouldn't second guess that they could take them. Then, once they were there, the Others could trap them and take them.

I think that if somebody stole his kid, they'd have to do a lot more than mere convincing to make him think that somebody he spent a considerable amount of time with is bad enough to be killed in cold blood! He wasn't a huge fan of Ana, but he had to have hated the Others a million times more.

He just looked off. Ever since he came back he looked crazy. I still say he's sick.

we have to always keep in mind the experiments the others (hanso foundation) does. brainwashing is part of that.

and let's not forget that he watched her shoot shannon. and he wasn't around when everyone seemed to forgive her for it. i'm sure he was acting on a little bit of vengeful anger about that, too.

i totally disagree that the shooting had anything to do with Shannon at all. mike didn't care about her.

i agree with u except i don't think they wanted him to kill anna specifically. more like do what u gotta do and get henry out.

yeah, and i'm sure there was a little revenge for shannon in there somewhere, too.

because Michael needed someone to blame to make himself seem innocent
