Fic: Of Antiques and Aliens

Jun 20, 2009 16:32

Written in the crossover meme for clocketpatch, who requested Ten and Mr Darcy. I'm sorry, this is very daft (and yet not quite daft enough), but it's the one scene that I had in my head. I nearly complied with all the meme's rules this time, except I had to sneak in Lizzy at the end. How can you not?

Aliens pollute the shades of Pemberley and so does the Doctor )

[In truth, her words were as follows: “How dreadful,” she said on her return from visiting Jane and Bingley. “Only imagine if such a creature had the impudence to emerge during a visit from Lady Catherine.”

“That would be unthinkable,” said Darcy.]

LOL

I don't know, I reckon it's pretty thinkable! :D

You realise I want to re-read P&P now? Between this and a recent conversation with neadods, I have a definite hankering!

It is a truth universally acknowledged that it is impossible to read Pride and Prejudice too many times.

:-D

Very witty!

I think I've read it about a dozen times over the last 30 years.

Love it! Love it, love it, love it! :-D And yes, it *would* be like him to have a subdued reaction along those lines, even while grandmother's writing-case goes up in flames on the lawn. Hee!

Thanks. I was bearing in mind that Darcy doesn't tend to say very much and Ten says a lot and, um, manic and wanton destruction of furniture immediately appeared in my head. Hmm.

:-D

The post-script!!! Squees and claps in glee. Right, right, I now must needs to get around to finishing my own meme responses; alas but I have been a wee bit remiss on that haven't I?

It was only a meme for fun, and I did give you a prompt purely because I thought it was too impossible to ever be done *coughs* So you're excused!

Yay! Love it love it, especially Elizabeth's dry conclusion. You should really continue these crossovers, you know. Open another challenge now this one's done!

Actually, it's not yet. I still have to write up the one for dbskyler</a (Lister and Davros) and I ended up writing out jjpor's other request, too. (Lt Gruber, Sarah, Four and Harry).

But I really enjoyed it. I thought about that myself, but I'm a lot less happy with the last ones, so I shall try it again maybe in a few months or so. After all, I was lucky with the amazing prompts, and who can guarantee that a second time?
