Fanvid: Smile on my Face

Aug 17, 2012 09:04

I have made a fanvid and I don't hate it! I made it for some of the random TV I've been watching lately, so it is obscure (but I don't care). Also, there is more dancing. Apparently this is a thing now and all my vids will have dancing in. Even if it's completely inappropriate...

Lyrics:
I was born with a smile on my face
the whole of my life's been a pantomime
born with the need to embrace
the life of a clown telling rhymes

La la la la la la la
la la la la la la la
la la la la

I'm here to help you leisure
give you pleasure
practise to please you
try to tease you
make you feel fine
inject some sunshine
make you feel good
I knew it would

I was born with a smile on my face
the whole of my life's been a pantomime
born with the need to embrace
the life of a clown telling rhymes

la la la la la la la
la la la la la la
la la la la la

forget the politician
nuclear visions
the gloomy headlines
official deadlines
let it all go now
let me show how
it's oh so easy to stay with me

I was born with a smile on my face
the whole of my life's been a pantomime
born with the need to embrace
the life of a clown telling rhymes

(It's very deep and meaningful, yes).

The idea was just to make a tribute for some of the actors (and/or their characters) who have been cheering me up over this last year or so, which it still is a little (I kept the focus on specific people), but when looking for a suitable 1970s song, I found this one. So there are other people who should be in it. So maybe I'll still do that. But I'm glad to have made one I like again - and maybe I can move on to some of my other ideas presently now I've managed that. It is obscure, but it's non-spoilery and hopefully cheerful and fun.

And, yes, I know some of them are Serious Dramas and one is even a tragedy. I'm just a bad person with a daft sense of humour, that's all.

(My WIP versions of this included "Henry VII must have ALL THE HUGS!" and "The Henry V is an Idiot Remix" but I managed to move on to a better place.)

I now await the inevitable stealing of David Gwillim, Richard Pasco or James Maxwell clips by random teenagers.
