Icon Pairing Meme (Slight reprise)

So there's not much going on, and I couldn't resist retrying the meme using last names. Some couples stayed together despite the odds: Evie Eliott & Eowyn, Frobisher & Gandalf, Maddy & Maid Marian, and Servalan & Seven. The results were mostly much scarier than last time, but it did throw up some things that were amusing - and one or two I want ( Read more... )

You should totally have a minion! Especially if you're going to get it/her/him to do things like that. Can they write okay, though?

Well they're MY minion, so being able to write well is an absolute requirement.

Now?

"Nearly there," Silver said. "I just need a little more conductive
material."

Liz examined the glittering haze that appeared to be suspended in midair
between his hands. "And you're telling me that's going to be a time machine?"

"I suppose you're an expert on the subject?"

"You'd be surprised. Which bit's the dematerialisation circuit?"

If she'd hoped to impress him, she didn't seem to have succeeded; his
expression reminded her of someone talking to a precocious but inexperienced child.
"Functional organisation by discrete circuits? How charmingly quaint."

"All right." Liz folded her arms. "How is it going to work, then?"

"If I tell you, will you let me have that metal?"

Liz considered the question. "It's a deal."

"It's going to work perfectly." He gave her a bright smile.

"I walked into that one." Liz couldn't help smiling back. "Turn round. I'll
tell you when it's safe to look."

With any luck someone else will write something closer to what you wanted, but once I'd thought of the premise I couldn't resist.

No, no, that was great. (I'd just been inevitably playing with it in my head over the afternoon, and I always go straight for the psychic stuff with S&S. It was a leap from that & the mysteries of the universe to knicker elastic.) Can't imagine anyone else would ever write Silver/Liz so this is fab!!

I am like 0_o over Silver and Liz's underwear. But, hah, yes.

On a (mostly) unrelated note, did you happen to watch Brick by Brick on Friday night? Because it seemed to me that in the S&S-verse, painstakingly reconstructing a building associated so closely with the First World War, and then filling it with old photographs, would be about the worst thing you could possibly do...
