"Yes... hello, an ethnic person in the fifties! Hi!"

It occurred to me part-way through this that while I had excluded Doctor Who (so that it didn't take up all but one of the 30 days) - and DW for me always includes the main lines of audios and novels, as they were each intended as genuine continuations when they started - that there were two DW spin-offs, that would never get a look-in if I had the ( Read more... )

Rani! Rani! Rani!

When she first showed up I wasn't very impressed. I was still sore over losing Maria (and Maria's dad who I really rather wanted to hook up with Sarah-Jane). But Rani has outed to the point where now I can hardly imagine the team without her.

And her parents are the most awesome thing every.

And Rani/Clyde is adorable.

And Rani is just great in her own right.

(I've just yoinked the icons by the way to add to my giant collection of icon pretties. Heh.)

I was sad to lose Maria (Clocket - you do realise Alan must have been nearly 30 years younger than SJ!!!? 8-o ) but I liked Rani at once, and since I have come to be all Maria Who? Oh, yes... sorry... watching Rani!

Thanks. :-)

Yeah, but Sarah-Jane doesn't look her age, and my mother's married to someone who's 25 years older. No biggie. Heh.

But yes, RANI!!!

True. For some reason I have this irrational squick factor if the female is much older than the male that is entirely unfair of me. But, as Seven says, "Love has never been known for its rationality." (And in my family tree, I have a complete generation skip on one side, because of my g-g-g-Grandfather marrying his second wife in 1848 when he was 68 and she was 29... !!! I would love to have a time machine and find out what the heck was going on there. Or possibly I really wouldn't. Sorry. What were we saying?)

And Sarah Jane certainly doesn't look her age... I don't think she can say a thing about non-aging Sixties teachers. I think she may be non-aging herself.

Elisabeth Sladen is pretty non-aging, too.

I'm happy for her, but I have to wonder if they would have given her the spin-off if she happened to look her age.

Yeah, you do have to wonder that. But, happily for us, Elisabeth Sladen is magically non-aging, so we're okay for the moment. ;-)
